The women's restroom was lined with individual stalls. The student walked down the row, calling out softly, "Norah Lamont? Is there a Norah Lamont in here?"
Norah, who was currently washing her hands at the sink, turned around in surprise. "That's me."
The student let out a relieved laugh. "Your boyfriend is outside looking for you. He seemed really worried."
*Boyfriend?*
Norah's eyes widened momentarily before the image of Gonzalez popped into her head. She smiled and nodded. "Thank you!"
She quickly dried her hands and walked out. Seeing Gonzalez standing anxiously in the hallway, she flashed an apologetic smile. "Sorry! When I walked past the salon room, I saw an old upperclassman of mine giving a lecture. We ended up chatting for a bit. I made you wait!"
Gonzalez's tense shoulders relaxed, and a faint smile touched his lips. "As long as you're okay."
As they walked back to their table together, Norah started giggling. "The girl who came looking for me thought you were my boyfriend. I practically died laughing! You're so much older than me. You're an uncle, how could you be my boyfriend?"
She kept laughing as they walked, completely oblivious to the fact that the man beside her now had an expression darker than storm clouds.
*
Back at their seats, Gonzalez's face remained terrifyingly grim. He picked up his book, his voice dangerously casual. "So, what kind of boyfriend are you looking for? Someone your own age?"
Norah flipped open her textbook and shot back, "How do you know I don't already have one?"
Gonzalez's head snapped up. "You have a boyfriend?"
*Did she agree to date Adrian Chambers?!*
Norah looked up, her eyes crinkling into a bright smile. "Nope!"
Gonzalez stared at her in silence.
His breathing hitched heavily. He seriously wanted to yank her across the table and turn her over his knee.
Norah tapped her book. "Alright, back to the lesson."
Norah: [Try how?]
A few minutes passed before Sara's reply popped up: [I'm going to ask him out next weekend. Do you think he'll say yes?]
Norah couldn't help but laugh as she typed back: [He doesn't even text you back, but you think he's going to go out with you?]
Sara: [Men like to play hard to get too! Maybe he's just waiting for me to make the first move!]
Norah debated whether she should mention that Gonzalez spent every Saturday at the bookstore. But then she realized if Gonzalez didn't like Sara and hated being bothered, leaking his schedule without his permission would be incredibly rude.
Ultimately, she just sent: [Well, I wish you luck then!]
Sara: [I'm busy tomorrow, so I have to wait until next weekend. I have a whole week to agonize over this. Why am I suddenly so nervous?]
Norah: [Channel the confidence of a girl who's had eighteen boyfriends! Don't panic!]
Sara: [Cheer me on!]

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
