As they spoke, a pure white Persian cat leaped gracefully from a third-floor window, stepping lightly on the second-floor railing before dropping flawlessly into the garden.

"What a gorgeous cat!" Maisie gasped in surprise. "Is it yours?"

Yvonne stared at Circe, letting out a cold scoff without answering.

Gonzalez had brought the cat home and treated it like a priceless treasure. It had a dedicated caretaker, and no one else was allowed to touch it.

Looking at the cat filled her with the exact same disgust she felt when looking at Gonzalez.

She didn't hate Gonzalez simply because he had returned to fight her for the Hanson family fortune. She hated him because of Estelle Macclain.

Anyone associated with Estelle immediately earned her absolute revulsion.

Maisie, however, was thoroughly enchanted by Circe. She used a treat to lure him over and scooped him into her arms.

Circe was still young and naive. Having been overly sheltered by Gonzalez, he had a very simple view of the world. Realizing he had been tricked for the first time, he grew instantly agitated, letting out anxious meows.

Maisie, who also owned a cat, knew exactly how to restrain him without getting scratched. No matter how hard Circe squirmed, he couldn't break free from her grasp.

"These brown eyes are so beautiful. And a pure white coat? That's quite rare!" The longer Maisie looked at Circe, the more she adored him.

A malicious idea sparked in Yvonne's eyes. She smiled faintly. "Since you like him so much, you can have him."

Maisie stared at Yvonne in shock. "I couldn't do that. How could I take something you love?"

Yvonne glared coldly at Circe. "I'm always away filming. I don't have the time to take care of him. I've been meaning to give him away for a while now. He'd be lucky to end up with you."

Maisie's face lit up with absolute delight. "Are you serious? You're really giving him to me?"

"I'm serious." Yvonne shot Circe a look of utter loathing. "You can take him with you when you leave."
