Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3232

Gonzalez watched her movements, his voice dropping to a low, smooth cadence. "Just help me look after Circe every now and then. If you get off work early, come over and feed him. I'll text you the door code in a bit."

Norah absolutely adored Circe and agreed without a second thought. "Deal!"

Gonzalez nodded. "Then it's a promise."

He had bought his place the exact same day Norah did, primarily because he was worried she might end up with terrible neighbors, so he snapped up the unit right next to hers.

Originally, he hadn't planned on living here. After all, he had just returned to the Hanson family.

When he first moved back, he and Simon Hanson had an agreement. Since he was returning, he would properly take over the company and stay at the family estate for a while to keep him company.

But Hannah Hanson and her daughter kept putting on their manipulative little acts and stirring up drama, leaving him completely exhausted. It gave him the perfect excuse to move out.

After dinner, Norah took the initiative to clean up before saying her goodbyes. "I'm heading back."

Gonzalez checked the time. "Get to bed early."

"I know!" Norah flashed a sweet smile and waved at the cat. "Bye, Circe!"

Circe trotted over and wrapped his paws around her leg, clearly reluctant to see her go.

Norah laughed. "Circe is so clingy!"

Gonzalez crouched down and scooped the cat up, his dark eyes turning unfathomable. "He's only clingy with you. He got tricked by someone a while back, so now he's on high alert around strangers. You're the exception."

Norah beamed with delight. "I knew we had a special connection!"

Gonzalez smiled. "Yeah, you really do."

Norah hesitated for a second. She wanted to ask if Circe used to belong to a girlfriend. Given his personality, he really didn't seem like a cat guy.

But for some reason, the words wouldn't come out. Maybe because she felt it wasn't right to poke at someone's sore spots or reopen old wounds.
