Hannah quickly interjected, "It's not Gonzalez's fault. Even though he's kept to himself since coming home and has been a bit aloof, in the end, it's my fault for not taking better care of him."
Yvonne scoffed. "Mom, you don't need to take all the blame. Mr. Lamont isn't an outsider; he knows exactly what goes on in this family. My brother ran away from home before he was even twenty. He's been gone for years. Dad got sick several times, and he didn't care or even bother to check in. It was always you by Dad's side, taking care of him."
Yvonne looked at Geoffrey, a picture of absolute grievance. "Mr. Lamont, you know my parents' history better than anyone. Back then, Dad accidentally got my mom pregnant. Afraid of ruining his marriage, Mom left town while carrying me. She did it all to protect his family."
"Later, when my brother's mother passed away, Dad found out about us. Feeling guilty, he tracked us down and brought us home."
"Through all of this, my mother did nothing wrong, and I was completely innocent. Yet my brother projected all the pain and resentment of losing his mother onto us. He hates me and has zero respect for my mother. For years, he's treated us with nothing but coldness."
"This time, when he finally came home, Mom was incredibly accommodating and patient with him. But he still treated us like enemies. He even brought a stray cat back that scratched me and ruined Mom's clothes, turning the whole house upside down. Mom didn't say a word about it, yet he threw a tantrum and moved out all on his own."
Hannah scolded her, "Yvonne, that's enough. I was the one who left the door open. It wasn't the cat's fault."
Norah couldn't suppress a cold sneer. She had aired all her grievances and painted herself the victim—and only now was she trying to shut it down?
But at least she finally understood why Gonzalez had moved out!
The cat Yvonne mentioned... was that Circe?
Circe scratched people and ruined clothes?
Norah didn't believe that for a second!

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
