Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3307

They had just sat down when Sara arrived. She called Norah, telling them to go ahead and order while she looked for parking.

Once Norah hung up, Khloe's tone cooled. "You invited Sara? Why didn't you mention that?"

Norah smiled, confused. "I said it in the group chat. Did you miss it?"

After their last fallout, Khloe had made up her mind to never see Sara again and had muted their group chat. When Norah had previously asked why she was so quiet, Khloe had brushed it off with a fake excuse about being slammed at work.

Khloe forced an awkward laugh. "I didn't get a chance to check it."

Minutes later, Sara walked in, greeting them with a bright smile. "Hey Norah, Khloe!"

Khloe pretended to study the menu, blatantly ignoring her. As Sara approached, Khloe deliberately dropped her purse onto the empty chair next to her.

Sara noticed the petty move. Her heart sank, but she acted as if nothing happened, taking the seat next to Norah.

Norah offered a radiant, easy smile. "Did you hit traffic?"

"No, but I took a detour to that bakery we used to go to in college and grabbed some pastries." Sara reached into her bag and pulled out a box of durian crisps, holding it out to Khloe. "Your favorite."

It was an obvious olive branch.

But Khloe didn't even look up. "No thanks. I don't eat those anymore. I'm staying far away from anything toxic."

Sara's expression slipped for a fraction of a second.

Completely oblivious to the tension, Norah laughed. "You used to love the smell. Changed your palate?"

Khloe gave Norah a loaded smile. "Yeah. I used to put up with the stench, but now just looking at it makes me sick."

*Smack.* Sara dropped the box onto the table. For a second, anger flared, but she bit her tongue and forced a smile. "We used to have the exact same tastes. No need to act so disgusted now."

Toward the end of the meal, Norah excused herself to use the restroom.

The moment she left, a heavy silence crashed over the table. The hostility returned instantly.

Sara looked at Khloe's dark expression and chose her words carefully. "Khloe, I still feel like I need to explain. You saw Adrian at my place the other morning, but the situation wasn't what you thought."

"I ran into him at a work dinner the night before. A client was coming onto me, and Adrian stepped in. We went back to my place for a drink afterward, and—"

"Save it," Khloe interrupted, her eyes ice-cold. "I know exactly who you are. Isn't this how you stole Gwenyth's boyfriend back then? No one knows you better than we do."

At the mention of their mutual friend, Gwenyth Harmon, the color drained entirely from Sara's face.

Suddenly, she desperately needed a cigarette.

Norah paid the bill on her way back from the restroom. When she returned to the table, both women were sitting in absolute, stony silence. The vibe felt completely wrong.
