Seeing Roland's expression, Linton's anger boiled over. "So you already knew?"
Roland scrambled to explain, "Not exactly. I only caught wind of it over the past couple of days. I even called Trevor today, but he completely denied it!"
"Of course he wouldn't admit it!" Linton was pale with fury. "If he admitted it, he'd have to cough up all the cash he swallowed."
He glared at Roland. "Do you have any idea how much time and money the company has wasted on Trevor? You practically guaranteed me this project was in the bag. And now?"
Linton slammed his hand on the desk. "Pack your things tomorrow and get the hell out!"
Roland stood there, pale and humiliated, his heart swelling with absolute hatred toward Trevor.
If Trevor was going to screw him over like this, he was going to take the bastard down with him.
The next day.
The HR department at the Hanson Corporation, along with several senior board members, received a formal, named whistleblower email.
Roland Hobbs, a manager at Vitesse Inc., accused Trevor Cromwell of demanding bribes in exchange for business contracts. The email included transfer records and audio recordings. The staggering amount of money involved sent shockwaves through the company.
Gonzalez had his team verify the evidence. He then threw the investigation report right onto Oliver Hanson's desk in front of everyone. "You don't realize how deep the rot goes until you start digging. It's not just Vitesse Inc. He's skimmed off the top of every single project he's touched. Trevor was your protégé, Oliver. What do you think we should do about this?"
Oliver stared at the damning evidence, his face ashen. "I truly had no idea Trevor would be this bold!"
He looked up at Gonzalez, trying to maintain a facade of righteousness. "I recommend terminating him immediately. I absolutely will not tolerate or cover for him!"
"Terminate him?" Gonzalez let out a cold laugh. "I've already had the legal department file charges. Corporate bribery and financial fraud. Let him wait for the lawsuit."
The blood drained completely from Oliver's face.
After the meeting adjourned, Oliver rushed back to his office. Trevor was waiting for him, pacing anxiously.
"What did Mr. Hanson say?"
