Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3326

Norah took a few steps closer, looking down at the man. "Are you drunk?"

Gonzalez opened his eyes, his voice low and raspy. "Norah..."

Norah crouched down, her expression darkening. "Why did you drink so much?"

Gonzalez stared right at her with those deep, dark eyes, making her heart flutter in a chaotic rhythm.

He tugged at the corner of his mouth, still sporting that wild, careless expression. "If I get to see you, I wouldn't care if I died."

Tears suddenly welled up in Norah's eyes, her vision blurring. "Then you can rest easy. Even if you died, I wouldn't spare you a second glance."

She stood up to leave.

Suddenly, a hand wrapped around her wrist. His grip was tight, making it impossible for her to pull away.

Norah looked back, her gaze icy. "Let go of me!"

The man unexpectedly lowered his voice. "Can you feel if I have a fever?"

Norah froze.

Resting his head against a throw pillow, Gonzalez guided Norah's hand and pressed it to his forehead.

The blistering heat changed Norah's expression. She pressed her palm fully against his skin, realizing he was burning up.

"You're sick?" she asked in surprise.

Gonzalez stared at her. "Probably."

"Where else hurts?" Norah asked, her brow furrowing.

"My head." Gonzalez dragged her hand down, placing it right over his heart. "And it hurts here, too."

Through the fabric of his shirt, she could feel the hard, tight lines of his chest. His heart beat wildly, hammering against her palm with heavy thuds.

She snatched her hand back in a panic, her teeth biting down on her lower lip. "Gonzalez!"

He really was sick. He was running a high fever, and his headache was blinding. The moment he closed his eyes, he slipped right into a hazy state of semi-consciousness.

He didn't know how much time had passed—maybe only a few minutes. When he opened his eyes again, he saw Norah crouched in front of the coffee table, rummaging through an open medical kit.

Under the warm, dim lighting, the girl's profile was soft and stunning. The earnest, slightly worried expression on her face left him utterly captivated. His heart ached, swelling with a suffocating wave of emotion.

He had once had this beautiful girl all to himself.

But he had broken her heart and made her cry, time and time again.

He couldn't help but speak, his voice thick with emotion. "Norah, I'm sorry."

Norah glanced back at him, assuming he was apologizing for his reckless behavior from earlier. Looking slightly flustered, she asked, "Realized your mistake?"

Gonzalez nodded, his words slurring slightly. "I've never stopped repenting. I'll never do it again."

He would never speak to her coldly again, and he would never make her cry.
