Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3336

Norah's heart ached slightly when she saw his expression. He seemed different from his usual self, and she couldn't help but ask, "You drank too much last night. Are you okay?"

Gonzalez fixed his gaze on her without blinking. After a long moment, he replied in a low voice, "I'm fine."

"You don't look well. You shouldn't drink so much from now on," Norah advised softly.

"Okay," the man replied slowly.

"It's time. I should get to work." Norah stepped toward the elevator, brushing past him.

When the elevator arrived, she stepped inside. Remembering the way he had just looked at her, a sudden wave of panic washed over her. Without thinking, she frantically pressed the open button and dashed back out.

But the hallway was already empty. The man was gone.

Norah stood there, feeling ridiculous. What was she even going to say to him?

She needed to sort out her own mess first, instead of dragging him into it.

Gonzalez didn't head into the office until the afternoon. He ordered the legal department to withdraw the lawsuit against Trevor Cromwell.

Spencer Manning couldn't understand the decision. There was no need to show any mercy to a man like Trevor, and crushing him would serve as the perfect warning to Oliver Hanson's inner circle.

Gonzalez offered no explanation, simply stating that he had his own plans.

That evening, he returned to The Eden Apartments as usual. He walked down the hall and went straight to Norah's place.

The keypad code hadn't been changed. He opened the door and stepped inside. The apartment looked exactly the same. Norah hadn't taken anything with her, yet the entire place felt suffocatingly empty.

He sat on the sofa where she always used to binge-watch her shows. He sat there for a long time, from dusk until absolute darkness swallowed the room, before finally getting up to leave.
