"Bastard!"
She bit her lip, cursing him through her tears. She furiously wiped her eyes, turned on her heel, and sprinted out the door.
She bolted downstairs in a total panic, only to run straight into Estelle, who was just stepping out of her car.
Norah threw herself at her, hugging her tightly as her voice cracked with sobs. "Estelle, he left!"
Estelle's gaze was calm and collected. She reached out, wiped the tears from Norah's cheeks, and spoke with unwavering authority. "He probably just got to the airport. Get in the car. We're going after him."
Norah nodded, her vision blurred. "Okay."
Behind the wheel, Estelle expertly navigated around the morning rush hour traffic, pushing the car to its absolute limits. She glanced at the heartbroken girl in the passenger seat. "Don't panic. Even if he ran to the edge of the earth, I'll help you drag him back."
Norah bit her lip. Through her tears, a fierce determination burned in her eyes.
"I know."

When they arrived at the airport, Estelle checked the time. "Security should just be opening. You go find him. I'll wait out here."
Norah nodded frantically and plunged into the bustling terminal. She scanned the crowds near the departure gates until, finally, she spotted that painfully familiar silhouette.
Her chest seized so tightly she couldn't breathe. For a moment, she completely lost her voice.
Right as he was about to step through security, she choked out a scream.
"Xavier!"
The man froze. He whipped around, his eyes locking onto hers through the sea of people, utterly paralyzed.
As their gazes collided, time seemed to blur. The rushing crowds faded into the background as every memory they shared crashed over them at once.
Their first meeting—Norah staring in absolute awe at the man who had just returned her stolen bag. *You're amazing!*
He had just walked away, completely indifferent.
But his coldness hadn't deterred her. It only sparked an intense curiosity. She followed him into that barbecue restaurant, and from that moment on, her entire world shifted.
Norah squeezed her eyes shut, sobbing so hard she could barely breathe.
"Where were you going to go?"
"Were you really just going to abandon me like this?"
"I thought you were trying to win me over. Who gives up halfway? What happened to all that sniper patience of yours?"
Gonzalez held her tightly, the overwhelming euphoria of getting her back making his heart pound against his ribs. But hearing her cry shattered him all the same.
"Don't cry."
His voice was thick and raspy. "I promised myself I would never let you cry like you did that night. But I failed. I always end up breaking your heart."
Norah gripped his shirt tight. "You're such a jerk!"
"I know," he murmured, his voice heavy with guilt.
