Night felt endless, yet too brief. Between waking and dreaming, dawn broke.

Norah floated in and out of consciousness. The night had been a tempestuous sea—at times gentle and rippling, at others a roaring tide that crashed over her. But through it all, he was tender, a steady anchor in the storm.

The sun hid behind heavy clouds the next morning, and the rhythmic patter of rain lulled her deeper into sleep. She had no desire to leave the bed.

Noticing his dark expression, Khloe smiled. "Don't let it bother you. She's leaving tomorrow anyway."

Adrian froze. "Leaving? To where?"

"A work assignment abroad," Khloe said lightly. "She won't be back for a while."

Adrian's heart sank. She hadn't said a word to him!

So she really was a heartless player. She slept with him, felt absolutely zero guilt, and was just going to pack up and leave.
