Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3425

Carson's low scoff carried a dangerous chill over the line. "Do you want to return the favor?"

Marina bit her lip. "Yes. Do you have a plan?"

Carson chuckled, his tone turning predatory. "Of course. If she thinks she can bully my fiancée, I'm going to make sure she learns exactly how stupid she is."

Marina's breath hitched. He flirted with her constantly, and she was practically immune to his charm by now, but hearing him say those words made a sudden rush of heat bloom across her cheeks.

After a brief silence, she asked, "What are you going to do?"

Carson laid out his plan.

Marina's eyes lit up, a spark of pure excitement dancing in her gaze. "Deal."

"I'll have someone discreetly return the device to you this afternoon," Carson said smoothly.

Marina could hardly wait. "Perfect."

That afternoon, Marina clocked out of work on time and headed back to the Evert family estate for dinner. Rhiannon had called her earlier, complaining that she missed her.

On her way through J City, Marina stopped at a famous bakery to pick up a box of fresh floral pastries and osmanthus cakes.

When she arrived, the family was just sitting down for dinner. Seeing her walk in, her grandmother and Aunt Charlotte exchanged surprised looks. "What are you doing back, Marina?"

Hearing their tone irritated Rhiannon. This was her daughter's home too. Why couldn't her own flesh and blood come visit?

She forced a smile and spoke up. "I missed Marina, so I asked her to come home for dinner."

Aunt Charlotte raised an eyebrow pointedly. "Look at that. Now that she's moved out, she suddenly gets off work early!"

Marina ignored the petty jab and set the elegant pastry box on the table. "I bought the floral pastries Grandma likes."

Her grandmother immediately slipped into her usual facade of a doting elder. "Why waste money buying things when you're just coming back to your own home?"
