Marina looked at Natasha. "Pull up your payment code. I'll transfer the twelve thousand right now."
"I've got it!" Erin interjected immediately.
"Don't fight me on this. I'm the host, I'm not letting you pay," Marina said, blocking Erin's hand.
Carson stepped forward. "Marina."
Erin pretended to just notice him, dripping with sarcasm. "Mr. Foster. What a coincidence."
Carson completely ignored her hostility, offering a calm smile. "When did you get into town? Why didn't you let me know?"
"I wouldn't dare interrupt your busy schedule," Erin replied coolly.
Tim Dawson stared in shock. "You know Mr. Foster?"
Carson glanced at Marina and introduced her, "My fiancée, Marina Evert."
A ripple of shock went through the crowd. The actual fiancée was here?!
Tim looked horrified. He quickly tried to smooth things over. "Oh, this is just a massive misunderstanding among friends! We're all on the same side!"
Carson pulled out his phone. "The money has been transferred. Go buy Ms. Zane a new dress, Mr. Dawson."
Tim panicked. "N-No, I absolutely cannot accept this money! If I had known she was a friend of your fiancée, I would have gladly gifted her the dress, no matter the price!"
He immediately spun around and scolded Natasha. "Are you drunk? How could you not recognize Ms. Evert's friend? And you had the nerve to demand money? Embarrassing!"
Natasha looked mortified, silently cursing her luck. How was she supposed to recognize Marina's friend when she didn't even know what Marina looked like? She hadn't given Giselle any respect because Giselle was just a club manager. But Marina was the official fiancée. That was entirely different.
After a brief moment of surprise, Giselle walked gracefully over to Marina with a warm smile. "So it's Ms. Evert's friend. I'm so sorry for my poor eyesight, and for overstepping by calling Mr. Foster down here."
The woman's expression was flawless, lacking even a hint of guilt. Marina matched her polite smile. "My friend and I were just hanging out. I didn't know he was here."
