Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3528

An hour later, the delivery arrived.

Sure enough, the spread included Roasted squab from The Emperor's Kitchen, Roast goose, and Salt-baked crab from The Golden Jade, alongside a few plates of stir-fried vegetables and a light, comforting soup.

Carson's call came through immediately. "Make sure you eat the vegetables. Just take a few bites of the rest to satisfy your craving."

Still holding a grudge over his earlier texts, Marina merely gave a flat, "Mm."

Carson laughed. "Still mad?"

"No."

It wasn't like she had anything to feel insecure about anyway.

"Actually... I really love it," his voice dropped, turning low and impossibly seductive over the line.

Her face ignited, and she hung up on him immediately.

Marina took a long nap that afternoon. When she woke up, feeling utterly bored, she grabbed her sketchbook and sat by the window.

As the sky began to darken, she casually sketched out a few rough lines, capturing the very last sliver of the sunset on paper.

Suddenly, her gaze drifted down to the street below. Despite the distance, she instantly recognized his silhouette.

He stepped out of his car, clad in a sleek black overcoat that accentuated his tall, striking frame. In his hands, he held a massive bouquet of vibrant red roses as he strode purposefully toward her building.

The sun had completely vanished, leaving the world trapped in a hazy twilight of greys and blacks. The fiery red of the roses in his grip was the only splash of color left in the fading light.

Marina's eyes softened. She lowered her head and resumed drawing.

When Carson walked through the door, he handed her the flowers. "Figured you'd be bored out of your mind stuck at home. A bouquet might cheer you up."

Holding the roses, Marina couldn't help but marvel once again—when Carson Foster decided to treat a woman right, it was absolutely lethal.
