Marina's face registered surprise. She glanced at the sleeping man beside her, a faint smile touching her lips, and spoke softly. "Hello, this is Marina. Mr. Foster is with me."

The driver paused for a second before immediately replying. "Good evening, Marina. I'm relieved he's with you. I won't bother you two any longer."

"Goodbye." Marina chuckled softly and hung up.

She put his phone back. She found his little scheme highly amusing, deciding she would definitely confront him when he sobered up. Had he done this on purpose?

Causing trouble for her in the middle of the night.

As she pulled into the apartment's parking garage, Carson happened to wake up. He raised a hand to rub his temples, his voice husky. "Are we home?"

"Yes. Do you need me to help you upstairs, Your Highness?" Marina looked at him with a teasing tone.

Carson leaned back against the seat, looking completely relaxed. "It would be even better if you could carry me up."

"In your dreams." Marina pushed the car door open and stepped out.

Carson called after her with a dramatic sigh. "Baby, are you just going to leave me here?"

Her response was the heavy slam of the car door.

Watching her walk away, Carson gave a helpless smile and got out of the car himself.

Marina pressed the elevator button and waited for him. Hearing his approaching footsteps, she stepped inside. Suddenly, her hand was caught. The tall man moved to her side and complained, "Why didn't you hold my hand? What if someone else took me away?"

Marina took a deep breath, pressing the close button and her floor number.

Once inside the apartment, Marina headed straight for her room. "If you're thirsty, there's water in the fridge. Go to bed when you're done. Goodnight."

Carson followed right behind her, catching the door before she could close it. His half-drunk eyes were as dark as the night. "I want to sleep with you."
