Marina really had bought it. Since Carson had showered her with a massive wardrobe upgrade previously, she had picked up a few designer pieces for him while out shopping one day to return the favor.

"I'll text you the brand later," Marina said.

Trixie gave her a meaningful look, seemingly confirming a suspicion in her own head. Her inner imbalance smoothed out a bit. "Sounds good. Though, I don't know if Colby could pull it off quite like Carson does."

Colby chuckled. "I'm afraid I might disappoint you there."

"Not at all." Trixie shot a fleeting glance at Carson, then linked her arm affectionately through Colby's. "You don't rely on your looks, anyway. You rely on your talent."

Carson noticed the oddness in Trixie's glance, though he couldn't quite pinpoint why it felt off.
