Summer chimed in. "It's just a difference in size. The taste will be exactly the same. Don't give the poor waiter a hard time."
Trixie finally dropped the issue, ordering a few things to her liking before asking Summer and Marina what they wanted.
A few minutes after the waiter left, the floor supervisor arrived to personally apologize. He brought out a complimentary appetizer, displaying utmost sincerity.
As the supervisor walked away, he cast a lingering glance at Carson. Retreating to the back, he immediately dialed the general manager. "I think Mr. Foster is dining in one of our private rooms. I've only met him once, so I wasn't entirely sure and didn't dare say anything."
The manager hurriedly called Carson's cell. "Sir, I heard you're dining with us tonight. I'll be right over."
While Marina and Summer were deep in conversation, Carson poured a glass of papaya milk for Marina. He answered the phone in a calm, quiet tone. "No need. Just having a casual dinner with some friends."
The manager instantly caught the hint. "Understood, sir. I won't disturb your evening."
Marina turned to him. "Everything okay?"
Carson offered a warm smile. "Everything is fine. Have something to drink to open your appetite."
He slid the glass over to her. Taking a sip, Marina immediately recognized the distinct taste of papaya. Call her overly sensitive, but she couldn't shake the feeling that he had ulterior motives with this specific drink choice.
Was he still silently judging her figure?
Marina shot him a sideways glare, which he caught effortlessly. The handsome man raised a brow. "What's wrong? Not good?"
"It tastes weird. You drink it." She pushed the glass back toward him.
Carson picked it up without hesitation. Just as the rim touched his lips, something seemed to dawn on him. A low chuckle rumbled in his chest. He tilted his head, leaning close to her ear. "Are you overthinking this? I didn't even order it."
