Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3548

Marina glanced at Carson, who was calmly slicing his steak, and lowered her eyes without saying a word.

Thrilled by the VIP treatment, Trixie talked non-stop about how valued Colby was at his firm and how upper management entrusted him with all the critical projects.

Carson swapped his plate of perfectly cut steak with Marina's. "You should eat more red meat for the next couple of days," he said softly.

Marina looked at him, curious. "Why?"

"To keep your iron levels up," Carson replied smoothly.

Marina stared at the handsome man in stunned silence. A subtle, comforting warmth spread through her chest. Knowing that someone was constantly keeping track of her well-being, factoring her into every small detail—it wasn't some grand, sweeping romantic gesture, but the quiet, steady care seeped into her heart like a gentle rain.

She rarely experienced such meticulous attention.

Her mother's love had always been broad and heavy-handed. It wasn't that her mother didn't care; she simply loved Marina in her own forceful way, rarely taking the time to consider Marina's actual feelings.

Carson's brand of care was entirely different.

Noticing her dazed expression, Carson arched a brow. "Did I say something wrong? It's just basic common sense."

Snapping out of her thoughts, Marina speared a piece of beef and chewed it slowly. "Yeah," she murmured. "First time I've... heard of it."

Carson chuckled. "Then I'll give you another tip. Go easy on the seafood. It's not great for your system right now."

The warm, fuzzy feeling evaporated, replaced by a sudden spike of annoyance. Marina let out a soft scoff, dropping her voice. "And how many girls did you have to look after to gather all this precious experience?"

Carson effortlessly continued cutting the rest of her food. "None," he replied with a faint smile. "I just picked it up from watching Claire take care of my mother."

Marina let out a skeptical huff.

Carson shifted his gaze to her. "Jealous again?"

Caught off guard, she shot him a sharp glare. "If I were that sour, I would have eaten you alive by now."

He found her flustered, defensive demeanor incredibly endearing. A lazy smile curled his lips. "As long as it makes you happy, you can do whatever you want with me."

Realizing she was never going to win a battle of wits against him, Marina simply turned her back and resumed her conversation with Summer.
