Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3555

"Didn't you say that things naturally falling into place requires two people to be completely in love? You already agreed to be mine, so does that prerequisite no longer apply?" The man chuckled.

Marina was left entirely speechless by his logic.

Carson leaned down to kiss her. Marina tilted her head back, dodging him as she whispered, "Don't. Warren is about to come out."

A faint, knowing smirk played on Carson's lips. "Phoebe definitely has a lot of questions for him. He won't be coming out anytime soon."

Marina's eyes flashed with sudden realization. "You did that on purpose!"

He had intentionally exposed Warren's ulterior motives right in front of Phoebe and the rest of the Evert family.

Carson tilted his head and finally captured her lips. "I avenged you. Aren't I a good husband?"

Marina murmured against his mouth, "What... husband..."

Her words were entirely swallowed by the man, melting away into the cool night breeze.

Back in the courtyard, Warren was indeed trapped in a conversation with Phoebe. His tone was practically begging. "Phoebe, could you please ask your cousin to put in a good word for us with Mr. Foster? It's obvious he cares deeply about her. If Ms. Evert asks, he'll definitely do it as a favor to her."

In the dim light, a dark, furious glint flickered in Phoebe's eyes. However, thinking back logically, Warren had never actually confessed any romantic feelings for her. He had simply been dropping off gifts at the house.

And those gifts were never exclusively for her; he was kissing up to the entire Evert family.

She fought to maintain her elegant facade, offering a tight smile. "Mr. Foster might not necessarily listen to my cousin."

She bit her lower lip, adopting a falsely casual tone to confirm her worst fears. "So, all this time you've been bringing gifts to our house... it was just to get in Carson's good graces?"

Wrapped up in his own desperate agenda, Warren was slow to catch on. He offered an apologetic smile. "Of course not. You've helped me out a lot, and I genuinely wanted to thank you."

He likely considered Phoebe a genuine friend, because he foolishly added, "But if you could get your cousin to convince Mr. Foster to give me that land, I'd be even more grateful."
