The other two band members finally caught on, looking at Marina with mocking expressions.
"Freddy, you can't go soft on women!"
"Tonight's the night you finally get what you want!"
"An ex is still a girlfriend. Taking her for a spin every now and then is completely normal!"
Their filthy remarks and unhinged behavior were a far cry from the passionate, music-loving personas they sold to their fans on stage.
Marina raised the glass bottle, aiming it straight at Freddy. Her voice cut like ice. "You disgust me. If you dare lay a finger on me, the Evert family will end you, and Carson won't let you walk away breathing!"
She supported Summer with one arm, her other hand trembling slightly as she gripped the bottle—whether from fury or pure adrenaline, she wasn't sure.
In the middle of the explosive standoff, a hand clamped down onto her wrist from behind. Marina's tense body reacted instantly, throwing a sharp elbow backward to strike her attacker.
But the moment she turned her head, she froze. All of her defenses completely vanished.
Carson Foster stood directly behind her. His dark eyes radiated a bone-chilling hostility. He effortlessly plucked the bottle from her grasp and brutally smashed it down over Freddy's head.
Crash!
The thick glass shattered into pieces, sending a spray of dark red alcohol flying across the room. Freddy shrieked in agony, clutching his bleeding head as he stumbled backward.
The white-haired singer and his buddy lunged forward. Carson didn't even blink. He kicked one squarely in the chest, sending him crashing to the floor, before snatching up another bottle and hurling it at the second man.
While Carson was engaged, another musician grabbed a bottle from the table and stalked toward him with a murderous look.
Marina quickly propped the unsteady Summer against the sofa. She grabbed a solid wood stool off the floor and swung it as hard as she could at the man trying to ambush Carson.
The stool was heavy, but fueled by sheer adrenaline, she managed to drop the vicious attacker right to the ground.
Carson glanced over at the loud thud. Seeing Marina standing there panting, a striking gleam flashed through his eyes. He let out a dark chuckle. "Look at you go."
By then, Carson's detail and the club's security team had flooded into the room.
