Carson gave a faint nod. "Turn the heat up a bit in the master suite. Also, Summer is here by herself. Make sure her room is at a comfortable distance from the other guests."
"Right away, sir," the manager replied smoothly. "Please let me know if you require anything else."
Carson waved a hand dismissively, and the manager turned and retreated into the shadows.
Hidden behind the pillar, Trixie's heart pounded. The tone of that exchange wasn't between a guest and a manager—Carson sounded like he owned the damn place.
Flashing back to the way Carson had casually spoken to the manager at the high-end restaurant weeks ago, Trixie realized she might have made a massive miscalculation. Carson Foster was absolutely not a kept man.
But that brought up an even bigger question: If he was this wealthy and powerful, why on earth was he messing around with someone else's fiancée?
She waited until Carson finished his cigarette and headed back before emerging, pretending she had just returned from the bathroom.
Summer checked her watch. "I only rented this place for the day, but I really don't want to leave. Let me see if I can contact the owner and pay extra to stay the night."
Carson seamlessly interjected with a calm smile. "Don't worry about it. I already worked it out with the owner for a full twenty-four hours. Staying the night is fine."
"Seriously?" Summer gasped, thrilled. "Getting a full day and night for that price is an absolute steal!"
Marina shot Carson an amused look but kept her lips sealed.
Trixie stared at Carson, her mind spinning with wild theories.
Since there was no rush to pack up, everyone relaxed and partied straight through until eleven. As midnight approached and the temperature dropped, the group finally called it a night and headed upstairs.
Carson led Marina straight up to the third floor. She glanced over her shoulder. "They're on the second floor, and we're on the third. Isn't that a little too obvious?"
