Marina took a sip of her drink. "Honestly, it's still a long way off."

She turned to him. "What about you? Got a girlfriend yet?"

Sean flashed a playboy grin. "After sitting next to a stunner like you, how am I supposed to settle for anyone else?"

"Then find a boyfriend!" Marina joked.

Sean's eyes widened. "Damn, Marina. You've gotten ruthless."

They joked around for a while longer until Marina's phone buzzed. She stepped out into the hallway to take the call.

It was her assistant, confirming a few work details.

As she spoke, two servers walked past. One of them muttered, "Which room ordered this bottle? It's not showing up on my tablet."

"Room 7705," the other replied. "Mr. Foster ordered it."

The servers continued down the hall. Marina hung up the phone, turning around in surprise. Carson was here at Midnight Bar, too?

Marina arched an eyebrow, a small smile playing on her lips, and followed the server toward the VIP suite.

Inside the room, Carson was discussing business with a few associates. Giselle Monet had been invited by someone else, and the guy next to her couldn't keep his hands to himself.

After being pressured into downing several drinks, Giselle was half-drunk. She shot Carson a desperate, pleading look.

Carson glanced up and saw Leland Kirk's hand resting on Giselle's thigh. He paused, offering a faint, diplomatic smile. "Ms. Monet was a great help to my fiancée recently. I'd like to propose a toast to her."

Giselle immediately stood up, lifting her glass with a soft, grateful smile. "You're too kind, Mr. Foster. You've looked out for me plenty since I moved to J City."

She downed her drink and used the opportunity to slide into the empty seat beside Carson. "Actually, there's a favor I've been meaning to ask you."
