When Kai arrived back at the villa, he found Rowena sitting in the living room, holding a hand warmer. She looked up at him with a soft, maternal smile. "Go upstairs and take a look. Mom prepared a surprise for you!"

Kai's eyes flickered. "What is it?"

"You'll see when you get up there. It's in your room!" The woman's slender fingers traced the patterns on the hand warmer, a vicious glint in her narrow eyes. "Don't go soft. Remember, this is what you deserve."

Sensing what might be waiting, Kai headed upstairs.

He entered his bedroom. The bedside lamp cast a dim, moody glow over the room. Lying on the bed was a girl with a stunningly beautiful figure.

Kai walked over and brushed the hair from the girl's face. Staring down at the features he had obsessed over for so long, his breathing instantly hitched.

She lay on her side, one arm securely tied to the bed frame, her eyes tightly shut. Beneath her sweater, faint bruises were visible on her neck, and an empty syringe of sedatives lay on the nightstand beside her.

He reached out, gently touching the bruises on her neck, his brow furrowing in distress.

"Sia!"

Kai murmured her nickname softly.

"Leave her arm tied for now, just in case she wakes up," Rowena suddenly said from the doorway, her voice cold.

Kai frowned in displeasure. "How is she?"

"She's fine, don't worry about it!" Rowena said dismissively. "Do whatever you want. Even if she wakes up, she won't dare tell a soul."

With that, Rowena stepped back out and pulled the door shut.

The room plunged back into heavy silence. Kai slowly ran his hand down Marina's waist. He stared at her, his gaze growing hazy and his breathing turning increasingly ragged.
