Erin panicked. "It has to be on purpose! Someone tampered with the cameras. This was completely premeditated!"

Carson suppressed the sheer panic rising in his chest, forcing himself to stay rational. He frowned, thought for a split second, then turned and strode out the door.

With his long legs, he moved so fast Erin had to jog just to keep up. "Do you know who took her?"

"No idea. Go back to your hotel and wait. I'll call you the second I find her," Carson commanded, his voice cold and hard.

"How am I supposed to just sit around and wait?" Erin demanded frantically.

Carson shut the car door and peeled out into the street.

Left standing on the sidewalk, Erin furiously cursed him out.

Rowena was sitting in the living room feeding her exotic cat when Carson violently shoved past the maids and stormed into the house.

"Carson!" Rowena jumped up. After a brief flicker of panic, she quickly masked it, acting completely unbothered. "What brings you here?"

Carson's eyes swept toward the second floor. "Is my father here?" he demanded.

Rowena subtly exhaled in relief, offering a sickeningly sweet smile. "No, he hasn't been by in days."

Carson's face was completely devoid of emotion. "His driver told me he dropped him off here. I have an urgent matter to discuss with him!"

With that, he started up the stairs.

"Carson!" Rowena immediately chased after him, but two massive bodyguards who had followed Carson inside blocked her path.

"What is the meaning of this?" Rowena shrieked in outrage. "This is my home! You're trespassing, and now you're restricting my movement? I'm calling the police right now!"

The two hulking men didn't say a word, just staring her down with dead eyes.

Upstairs, Carson grabbed a terrified maid. "Which room is Kai's?"
