Chapter 439
Soon, Emily’s family arrived, including her mother, brother, and her future sister–in–law.
It was the first time Estelle had met Emily’s sister–in–law, Crystal. Crystal had a petite figure, wore a fitted skirt, had round eyes, and exuded a sweet demeanor.
Upon seeing Emily lying in bed, Gina, Emily’s mother, couldn’t hold back her tears. “What happened? How did you sustain such severe injuries?”
Estelle apologized, feeling responsible. “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I took Emily out and failed to properly take care of her.”
Gina wiped her tears, looking at Estelle. “You must be Estelle, right?”
Estelle nodded in affirmation. “Yes, that’s correct.”
“You’re Emily’s friend?” Gina choked up, “I’ve often heard Emily mentioning you. You’ve helped our family a lot before. While she’s been away, you’ve been the one taking care of her. I’ve always wanted to thank you!”
Estelle hurriedly said, “You’re too kind, Estelle and I take care of each other!”
Gina nodded, “My Emily is an honest child. Since you’re her friend, you must be a good kid too. I won’t blame you for what happened today, so don’t feel guilty.”
Jonathan was prepared for a scene but seeing that Emily’s mother was reasonable, he didn’t say anything else.
Gina looked at Charlie and the others in shock, “Are you all Emily’s friends?”
Estelle gave Gina a brief introduction.
Charlie politely said, “When Emily first came to the hospital, her condition was pretty bad, and things were urgent. You didn’t make it in time, so I signed the responsibility agreement on Emily’s behalf. I hope you don’t mind!”
Gina was stunned for a moment, then carefully looked at Charlie, and hurriedly nodded, “It’s all right, I should be thanking you! Thank God Emily has friends like you!”
Crystal sneered, “As a girl, going to a nightclub with a bunch of guys in the middle of the night, she deserves what happened!”
Elliott frowned, “Stop talking, Emily’s still unconscious!”
Crystal glared at him and stopped talking.
After the doctor finished explaining, Gina told Estelle and the others, “We’ll take care of Emily. You guys should go back and rest. Thank you so much for today!”
Emily just needed a good rest. The group said goodbye to the Sullivan family and left the hospital.
Jonathan didn’t bother with the others and directly said to Estelle, “Get in the car!”
Under Yvonne’s astonished gaze, Estelle got into Jonathan’s car.
