Jonathan Lamont looked ahead calmly and said, "Estelle Macclain, we need to talk."
He didn't call her Ella, as he used to.
Estelle was taken aback, seemed to have a hunch, and nodded slowly, "Okay."
The two returned to the Royal Mansion, and no one spoke any more along the way. Back home, Estelle got the point, she asked Jonathan, "Actually you didn’t go abroad, did you?"
Jonathan looked at her indifferently, "Estelle, I'm giving you one chance. Tell me, how many things have you been hiding from me?"
"A chance?" Estelle frowned at him, "What do you mean? I've already explained to you about Xavier Flemmings. We're just friends, there is no love between us."
"Fine!" Jonathan's tone was cold, "Then tell me, how did you meet him? How long have you known each other?"
This side of Jonathan seemed foreign to Estelle, she shook her head slightly, "Are you interrogating me?"
Jonathan sneered, "You say there's nothing going on, but I just heard Xavier say he likes you!"
Estelle's eyes widened, "Impossible!"
If Xavier liked her, he would have made it clear long ago. Plus, Xavier knew about her and Jonathan. How could he possibly like her?
They were friends, like relatives, but definitely not lovers!
Jonathan sat on the couch, looking at Estelle with a cold tone, "Could I have misheard?"
Estelle closed her eyes, she knew Jonathan wouldn't lie to her, but she didn't understand why Xavier would say such a thing.
Jonathan's gaze became heavy, "Estelle, who matters more to you, me or Xavier?"
Estelle looked into his eyes and said honestly, "You both mean a lot to me. Xavier is like family, and you are my lover."
Estelle looked at him in disbelief, "What did you say?"
"Let's break up. I'm tired of it!" he said.
He had always thought that what Yvonne told him wouldn't affect his love and trust for Estelle, but now he had to admit, the rift had already taken root between them.
Even if he acted as if nothing was wrong, kissing her passionately, his heart was no longer filled with the tenderness of before.
Until Victor showed up, until he saw her being intimate with Jason, his heart had cooled.
And Xavier's incident was just a spark that made him realize they could never go back to the way things were!
So, breaking up now was a good ending, at least when he thought of her in the future, there would still be many beautiful memories.
If they were to wait until the truth came out, and they both detested each other, then their relationship would truly be a total mess!
