Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 475

Listening to her friend's excited voice, Grace gradually started to smile.

Perhaps this was really it for her. Maybe fate had finally arrived.

After hanging up, Grace looked at the gloomy sky outside and thought back to their college days.

Back then, neither of them had much money. They would often huddle together in their dorm room, eating instant ramen.

They watched anime together, gossiped together.

Life was simple, but they were happy.

"What's wrong?"

Damien had returned at some point.

He took off his coat, changed into his slippers, and waited until the chill from outside had dissipated before sitting down next to Grace.

"Whose call was that?"

Grace snapped back to reality. "It was Ivy."

Damien made a soft "hmm?" sound, waiting for her to continue.

"She said she's met her true love," Grace said with a small smile. "His name is Lucian Chow, a barista."

Damien placed her right leg on his lap and began to skillfully massage it.

"A barista? That's nice."

He lowered his head, a flash of suspicion in his eyes that Grace didn't catch.

When it came to the people around Grace, especially someone who appeared so suddenly, Damien was habitually suspicious.

There were only twenty days left until the holidays, but Ivy was nowhere to be seen, her schedule a complete mystery.

This was surprising because Ivy was a total workaholic; working late into the night was normal for her.

But now, she clocked out at 5:30 PM sharp every day and had even skipped the company's year-end dinner party.

One day after work, Grace drove directly to Ivy's company, planning to ask her to go shopping for clothes.

"Fast?" Ivy pouted. "Weren't you the same with Ethan? It was love at first sight, and you were devoted to him for five years."

The moment the words left her mouth, the atmosphere became instantly awkward.

Ivy realized what she'd said and quickly apologized. "Oh… Grace, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to…"

Grace's face paled, and she bit her lower lip.

"It's fine."

She forced a smile. "I'm just worried you'll get hurt. You know what they say, you can't always judge a book by its cover."

"Oh, I know!" Ivy wrapped her arm around Grace's and shook it gently. "I'll be careful. Besides, what could he possibly want from me?"

Grace sighed.

Ivy's personality made her particularly vulnerable.

Especially for someone who craved affection, a little bit of warmth from someone was enough to make her rush in like a moth to a flame.
