"Furthermore," she paused, her gaze slowly sweeping over Cassian and Lucian's faces, "I've also instructed my lawyer to prepare a lawsuit against several individuals for… unlawful imprisonment and intentional assault."
"Oh, and poisoning."
Her eyes finally settled on Lilian, whose face had gone deathly pale.
"I imagine that all those charges combined should be enough to keep you all locked up for a few years, don't you think?"
How… how dare she?!
Was she really going to send her own family to prison?!
"You… you're insane!" Sabrina pointed at her, so angry she could barely speak.
For the first time, Cassian's expression turned ugly.
His reputation was the most important thing to him.
If any of this got out, his promising career as a young researcher would be over!
"Grace! I'm warning you, don't do anything reckless! We are your family!"
"Family?" Grace laughed as if she had just heard the world's greatest joke.
"When you locked me up and tried to force me to marry an old man, did you think of us as family?"
"When you pushed me down the stairs and drew my blood to save Lilian, did you think of us as family?"
"Lilian, when you poisoned my juice, hoping I'd be violated by Simon Brooks, did you think of us as sisters?!"
Her repeated questions left the Hart family speechless.
Lilian was trembling, shaking her head frantically.
"No… that's not true… Grace, I didn't… You're lying!"
"Whether I'm lying or not, the hotel's security footage and the cameras in the presidential suite will tell us the truth."
Grace stared at her coldly.
"Oh, and by the way, I'll also be handing over the recording of you all discussing how to sell me off for a good price to the police."
"I'm sure the officers will see that I get justice."
At that, the faces of every member of the Hart family turned completely white.
"Get it for her!!" Mr. Hart roared at her.
Sabrina flinched and didn't dare say another word. Reluctantly, she went upstairs to retrieve the document.
Soon, she returned with the family register.
She walked up to Grace, using every ounce of her strength to resist the urge to throw it in her face.
"Here! You ungrateful traitor! Take it and get out!"
"From now on, even if you die on the street, don't even think about coming back to the Hart family!"
Grace reached out and took the register.
She opened it and turned to the page that belonged to her.
Goodbye.
To the Grace of the past.
She closed the register, and without giving her fuming 'family' another glance, she turned and walked out of the house without looking back.
