When she started school, Gregory and Celestine suggested she move to the Drayven Estate. It was more convenient for her education, and Ramona moved with her to continue taking care of her daily life.
Over the years, she had been her grandma’s most treasured grandchild, and Gregory and Celestine’s pride and joy.
She had grown up surrounded by love, living an undeniably happy life.
“I’m here, Miss!” Ramona appeared, the same woman who had earlier looked at Seraphina with such obvious disdain. She rushed up, smiling wide. “I’ve missed you so much. Honestly, when was the last time you came home?”
“I missed you too,” Viola said warmly.
She hugged Ramona tight, making the older woman laugh out loud. “You’re such a little brat.”
Viola giggled, her dimples showing. “Guess what? I passed my level nine piano exam.”
“You’re kidding!” Ramona clapped her hands, thrilled.
Viola lifted her chin proudly, eyes sparkling. “Do you think Aunt Celestine will give me that gold Steinway as a reward?”
She’d practiced day and night for it. That piano had been her motivation all along. Celestine adored her-Viola was sure she’d get what she wanted.
And Gregory? He’d probably give her something rare and extravagant.
Then there was Cassian. Her long-time crush. She had worked so hard to become the kind of woman worthy of standing beside him.
Just thinking about it made her cheeks flush pink with joy.
But Ramona’s smile faltered. Her expression tensed. In a lower voice, she said, “Miss, we need to talk. Come to my room.”
“Okay,” Viola said lightly, linking arms with her.
Once inside, Ramona locked the door behind them and looked visibly nervous.

Viola frowned. “Geez, what’s with the drama? Are we filming a spy movie?”
Ramona took her hand. Her voice was serious. “Miss… bad news. Mr. Drayven and Mrs. Drayven have found their real daughter.”
“What? I thought you rigged the DNA results.”
“I did! But Mrs. Drayven refused to believe it. She insisted on redoing the test. No it,” Ramona said bitterly.
What was done was done. No point crying over it now.

Ramona’s eyes narrowed as she shifted gears. “Listen carefully. You need to find a reason to move back in here. Fast. You have to win back their favor. Don’t forget-the family fortune is still in Mr. Drayven’s hands, and your place in this house is no longer guaranteed.”
Viola’s eyes turned cold. She looked out the window at the pitch-black sky, her fingers clenching tight.
So this was it.
