He moved through the crowd with a commanding stride, each step exuding power.
Without hesitation, he reached out and grabbed her hand.

“Don’t let that man fool you,” he said. “That so-called burial pendant? It was his all along. He staged thi little act to lure you into his market network.”
He gestured behind him, and an assistant handed over a sleek black and gold card. He placed it firmly in her palm.
“There’s ten million on this card. Nationwide access. I want you on my team. What do you say?”
The front of the card shimmered with a single gold-stamped “S,” etched in bold calligraphy.
Seraphina’s gaze lingered on it for a second before the corners of her lips twitched ever so slightly. So he’s Zachary Smithof the Stratmoor Group.
From the crowd, a gasp of recognition cut through the buzz.
“Holy shit! That’s Zachary!”
“Wait-Zachary? Who the hell is that?”
“Are you living under a rock? He’s from the Stratmoor Group! Even half the mayors in Valedawn greet him with a handshake and a nervous laugh.”
“My god, who is this girl? It’s been five minutes and she’s already got half the city’s elite chasing after her!”
Tyler could barely process what was happening. Had his family just hit the cosmic jackpot?
Just a few minutes ago, people were sneering at him. Now the vendor who mocked him moments before was stumbling over himself to bow, nod, and beg for forgiveness.
And everyone else-those smug, arrogant bastards-now looked like they wanted to crawl under a rock. Tyler gave a little snort, pretending not to care.
But deep down? His soul was practically vibrating. His blood pressure could’ve launched him into orbit
This… this was what it meant to win. To ride the wave of power with the right person and crush every doubter under your feet.
He glanced at Seraphina like a pilgrim staring at a saint-equal parts awe and gratitude.
Still, he couldn’t help but worry.
On one side stood the infamous Luther of the Obsidian Circuit. On the other, Zachary, heir to a corporate empire and a master of financial warfare.
Which side would she choose?

The Obsidian Circuit had been around for over a century. Their recruitment bonuses usually capped at $600K. No one had ever cracked a million-until now.
Zachary wasn’t backing down either.
“Work for me,” he said. “I’ll give you a blank check. Write whatever number you want.”
Everyone froze. Did he just say blank check?
That wasn’t just money. That was total freedom. That was carte blanche from a billionaire empire.
“And whatever you need,” Zachary added, “you’ll have it. No limits.”
The crowd could only gape. The generosity was insane.
Stratmoor Group was a titan in Valedawn’s business world. Six partners ran the show, each one the child of a high-powered family. The eldest one remained a mystery, but the other five? Celebrities in their own right.
And now, one of them was throwing everything on the table for a girl he’d just met.
People were starting to wonder if she’d saved the god of wealth in her past life.
Luther was losing ground fast. He glared at Zachary.
“Are you serious right now? Since when do you care about anything? You’re the guy who always says ‘whatever.”
Zachary smiled effortlessly. “Not this time. This time, I care.”
“You’re crossing the line here. I found her first.”
“I don’t care.”
“You little punk! I’m telling your grandfather!”
“Go ahead. Won’t change a thing.”
The crowd watched, riveted, as the two men bickered like children fighting over a toy. All eyes landed on Seraphina.
