From Wife to Aunt: His Worst Nightmare novel Chapter 59

Simone was also presumably here to pick jewelry for the Zeller family's banquet next month.

She swept in with her chin held high, not sparing Juliet or me so much as a glance. Instead, she went straight to the counter, pulled out her VIP membership card, and told the sales assistant to pack up the necklace immediately.

The sales assistant looked troubled. However, considering that the Griffin family's influence was greater, she turned to Juliet and asked, "Would you like to choose another piece instead, Ms. Simpson? Actually, I think this pink diamond necklace suits you better."

Juliet's expression darkened instantly. "Such a big store, yet you don't even understand what first-come, first-served means? Call your store manager."

Simone's lips curled into a mocking smile. "What's the use of calling the manager? People of a lower class should buy jewelry where they belong. Don't come here to embarrass yourself.

"The fact that your father had to humble himself yearly to beg Steve for investment already proves that you're not worthy of wearing jewelry of the same class as mine."

Juliet scoffed angrily. "Why don't you take a good look at yourself, you old hag? Does this necklace even suit someone your age? Your neck is full of wrinkles. Aren't you afraid that such a delicate chain will just strangle out a few more?"

"You—" Simone flew into a rage, then quickly forced a smile. Her gaze landed on me as she deliberately emphasized, "This necklace is for my future daughter-in-law. My son can't stop gushing about how beautiful she is. This canary diamond necklace is more than worthy of her."

Of course she was referring to Isabel as her daughter-in-law.

Juliet was practically itching to start a war with Simone. I stopped Juliet and said, "There are plenty of jewelry stores in this mall. Let's go somewhere else instead. No need to jinx ourselves here."

Just then, two other people stepped into the shop. A clear male voice rang out. "Excuse me, is the custom jewelry ready for collection?"

I turned around, surprised to see Henry. He was here with Catherine and was taken aback to see Juliet and me there.

Catherine walked up to me and asked warmly, "Is your foot feeling better, Zara?"
