Chapter 187

I wait at the opening to the cells, Dallas not allowing me to walk further inside. I don’t know what he thinks will happen. Liam should have the ring now, we all do, and he’ll be okay. We’ll be okay.

I know he’s worried about hurting me, but he’s going to have to get over that, because I’m not going anywhere. He’s been my life for as long as I can remember, even when we weren’t together. If he thinks a witch’s hex can separate us, he’s got another thing coming.

I hear him and Walker walking closer to the end of the tunnel after Walker was in there forever just to give him the ring.

I spare a quick glance at Dallas, to see if I can get away, but his eyes are focused on me, like he can see my next move before I make it.

Sometimes I swear this Gamma Luna bond will be the death of me, but it also comes in handy. ‘Like when your mates trying to kill you and we take way to long to contact help.’ Leah chaises, and I take a deep breath.

She’s not happy with Liam. Even after knowing he wasn’t the one who did it. She’s hurt that her mate would hurt her under any circumstances.

Dallas is pissed too; he thinks Liam should have fought harder.

I however don’t understand their point. He wasn’t himself; his mind was literally under attack.

I see his green eyes, dim from the stress he’s felt. It nearly rips my heart out to see the pain in his eyes, but I don’t let it stop me. I run over to him wrapping him in my arms and holding onto him like my life depends on it, as soon as he leaves the tunnels.

It takes him a minute before he finally closes his arms around me and holds me back just as tightly. “Angel.” He whispers into my ear and I squeeze even tighter.

It hasn’t been that long since I’ve seen him, but it feels like a lifetime. Being apart from him ever is always too much for me. I never want to be away from him again.

Hopefully, these rings work, because I know Dallas won’t have any issues with locking him up and throwing away the key if Liam ever hurts me again.

Neither of us are willing to let go for what feels like forever, before Dallas walks over and grabs my arm pulling me away from him. A low growl leaves Liam’s throat, making everybody’s hackles rise and look at him.

But it’s clear from the glare he has focused on Dallas that the growl was not for me, but for the man stupid enough to pull his mate away from him.

Liam looks down and shakes his head and Dallas steps towards him. “I’m not leaving her side or giving you another chance to hurt her. We’re playing this by my rules, or I swear I’ll take her from here until I know it’s safe.” Dallas growls and I just stare at him shocked.

“Dallas.” Nick says sternly, but Dallas’s eyes don’t leave Liam. Liam looks over at me, guilt clouding his face as he looks back at Dallas, “Thank you.” He whispers and I shake my head, my eyes full of sorrow.

Liam’s lost to the guilt of hurting me. He’d rather Dallas make me disappear again rather than hurt me again, and I don’t like it.

It’s not like I have a death wish, but I don’t like that he’s bending over so easily. Accepting that things around here are going to change until we know for sure the rings work or we find the bitch doing this.

Dallas nods and turns around grabbing my hand and pulling me with him. “Dallas!” I shout, digging my feet into the ground and forcing him to stop. “Fuck, Aims. We talked about this!” He says, turning around quickly to look

at me.

I shake my head, “No. You talked and just expected me to follow your rules. He hasn’t done anything!” I shout at him, and I feel Liam’s presence wash over me as he wraps his arm around me, and Dallas tenses.
