Chapter 26 The Email From Central Command
But what about the other SSS-class Beastfolk?
“Host, are you worried?” Primo asked.

Margaret’s thoughts were tangled. She spoke slowly, “I’m thinking…if I get matched with some other SSS- class Beastfolk and they turn out to be arrogant jerks like my exes, wouldn’t I just be jumping from the frying pan into the fire?”
“Host, you’re forgetting one thing.”
“What?”
“Before, you were C-class. To an S-class, that was low-tier-someone they could treat however they wanted. But now it’s different. You’re the only SSS-class female in the world. The whole universe-all thirteen galaxies-will see you as their most valuable resource.”
Margaret’s eyes widened as the reality finally sank in.
“And-” Primo paused, its tone turning unusually serious, “I’ll be with you. Right up until your very last
moment.”
Margaret stayed quiet for a while, just staring blankly at the wall ahead. Then, a soft smile touched her lips.
“I understand,” she said, her voice steadier now. “Thank you, Primo.“
Primo gave a light digital chuckle and went silent.
The room settled into stillness.
Then, a soft beep came from the tablet on her nightstand.
Margaret blinked and picked it up. The screen showed one new message. She opened it, and her eyes widened slightly.
It read, “Sender: Central Command.”
Margaret frowned.
“Host?” Primio sensed the shift in her mood. “What’s wrong?”
“Central Command just sent me a message,” she said, her voice tightening slightly.
Primo went quiet for a few seconds. When it spoke again, its tone was unusually grave. “Central Command? The core Al that manages all Beastfolk data across the thirteen galaxies?”
“Yeah”
“It never sends individual messages,” Primo said, words coming quicker now. “Never. It only handles data processing and matching calculations. All official communications go through agencies and different
clearance levels. Why would it contact you directly?”

Margaret didn’t answer. Her finger was already swiping across the screen to open the message.
The content was brief-just a few lines.
“Dear Citizen Margaret.

“Your psychic fluctuation data has been flagged for priority observation. Please report to the Prime Planetary Institute of Science within 72 hours. An assigned officer will be responsible for your subsequent testing and evaluation. All previously scheduled appointments at Central Medical have been canceled. You are not required to go there.
“Central Brain”
Margaret stared at the lines of text. For a moment, she couldn’t speak.
Primo was reading, too. After a moment of silence, it spoke.
“The Academy of Sciences…” Primo’s voice lowered. “That’s where the Central Brain’s physical core is located. It’s the most heavily guarded place in the entire universe.”
Margaret said, “You said before that the Central Brain couldn’t detect your existence.”
“It can’t detect me,” Primo said. Then it paused. “But it can block me. The energy field in the Academy of Sciences’ core zone is too strong. If you go in there, my connection with you might be disrupted for a while.”
Margaret frowned.
Disrupted connection. That means I will have to face the legendary super-brain that controls thirteen galaxies all by myself. Face testing procedures I don’t understand at all. Face whatever unexpected things may happen.
Primo seemed to sense her hesitation. “Host, you don’t want to go?”
“It’s not that I don’t want to go,” Margaret said slowly. “It’s that I’m a little scared to go.”
She paused, then added, “But not going isn’t realistic either. The Central Brain sent the message itself. It’s not like I can pretend I didn’t see it.”
Just then, footsteps sounded outside the door.
Margaret looked up at the closed door.
The footsteps stopped right outside her room.
Margaret stared at the door. One thought crossed her mind.
This probably isn’t Blanc again, right?
Then, three knocks sounded, not too loud, not too soft.
