He added with a grin, “My mother is Eileen Reed, the richest woman in the Interstellar Era. You must have heard of her.”

Margaret nodded. She had, though only because Primo had filled her in.

Timothy shifted forward in his seat. “My mother only had me. She’s not a fan of messy family dynamics and didn’t want to raise a bunch of heirs clawing at each other over money. So from day one, she only had kids with her first beastman husband, my father.”

He looked at Margaret, his ice blue eyes soft and warm. “So I hope I can be your first beastman husband

too.”

Margaret was lost for words.

First beastman husband? Did he not realize she was divorced?

“Did you not look into my background before you came?” she asked, interrupting his flow. “I’ve been divorced.”

“Of course I know. I read every single post about you on the Interstellar Forum.”

Margaret went still. It suddenly hit her. Her three marriages to Ardon, Raikes, and Kiran were already common gossip across the whole Interstellar Era.

“That’s all behind us.” Timothy brushed it off like it was nothing. “They’re just three insignificant S-class males. It was high time you left them. What I want is to be your first from now on, and your first moving forward.”

Baar had heard enough. He interrupted coldly, his voice laced with warning. “Timothy, choose your words carefully. On the Central Brain’s match list, I’m at the top. If anyone’s going to be the first husband, it’s

me.”

Timothy turned his head and let out a mocking laugh.

“Commander, has all that combat fried your brain?” he shot back without missing a beat, “The order on that list is just the Central Brain ranking us by status and genetic match. It’s nothing but a string of numbers.”

He looked back at Margaret, his expression turning serious. “What matters isn’t some ranking on a list. What matters is who holds the top spot in Margaret’s heart.”

Margaret laughed.

She laughed because the S class status her three ex husbands had been so proud of was dismissed by Timothy as “just three insignificant S-class males.” And she laughed because here were two men, one commanding the Federation’s entire military, the other heir to an unimaginable fortune, arguing in front of her over who would be her first husband.

Interesting,

“My name is Margaret Greene. I’m an orphan from a remote edge galaxy.” Margaret recited the original

owner’s file. As for the original owner coming from Earth, which had been destroyed ten years ago, or her mysterious parents, she wasn’t foolish enough to share any of that with these two men she barely knew.

Baar and Timothy both stayed quiet and listened.

“Later, the Central Brain matched me with three S-class males.” Margaret spread her hands. “So I came to the Prime Planet. You probably already know that back then, my file said C-class spiritual power.

“You must have looked me up before you came. I’m already divorced from those three.

“They had their eyes on an S-class female.” Margaret’s voice dripped with sarcasm. “She had a higher rank and could offer them better spiritual cleansing, so they pushed for the divorce.”

“And then?” Timothy frowned, the smile completely gone from his blue eyes.
