She knew she could hardly turn him down after accepting their generous gifts. Eileen had even sent a hundred million credits just as pocket money, and refusing him would feel unreasonable.
Margaret stood up and nodded toward Timothy. “Alright, let’s go take a look.”
The two walked side by side up the stairs.
The second floor looked brand new. The spacious hallway was fully covered with pure white Fluffbeast pelts from Alpha Planet. Bare feet sank into the thick fur, soft and light like stepping onto fluffy clouds.
Margaret pushed open the door to her bedroom.
The simple old furnishings had been completely replaced. A cloud-style sofa stood neatly in the small lounge. Smart curtains hung beside the windows, catching light to cast tiny twinkling glimmers across the room. In the inner space, a large floating therapy bed took up nearly half the room and gave off a soft, faint glow.
Margaret glanced around, then turned to Timothy. “It looks great. Thank you for all the trouble you’ve taken.”
Timothy frowned right away. He shook his head in disapproval and stepped forward to meet her eyes.
He spoke earnestly. “My Lady, you shouldn’t thank me. All the finest things in this world are meant for you. Don’t feel burdened at all-you deserve every single bit of this.”
Margaret lifted an eyebrow.
Timothy really knew how to speak warmly to others. He never treated his kindness like something to bargain with. Instead, he presented the best he had as if it were only natural.
She did not argue further and simply nodded.
Seeing her good mood, Timothy took the chance to make an invitation. “Do you have plans today? I don’t come to Prime Planet often. Want to head out and wander around together?”
Margaret shook her head. “I can’t. I’m heading to Central Hospital with Cheiron soon.”
Timothy’s eyes widened with worry. “The hospital? Are you feeling sick, My Lady?”
“It’s just a routine checkup,” Margaret explained.
Timothy looked her over from head to toe. She had a slender frame, and her loose loungewear hung loosely on her body. Her wrists looked so thin they seemed fragile and easily hurt.
He could tell she had endured hardship and poor nutrition in the past.
Timothy held back the words on his lips and began to make plans. A full physical exam was absolutely necessary. Once they understood her physical condition, he would hire professional nutritionists to help her build up her health.
He nodded obediently, a grin pulling at his lips. “Got it. A checkup is important. Go on, and come back

early. I’ve sent for our personal chef to make lunch. He’ll be here before noon.”
Half an hour later, Margaret got into Cheiron’s hovercar.

Cheiron did not drive manually. He stayed in the driver’s seat, rested his fingers on the control panel, and set the car to automatic cruise mode.
Scenery outside the window rushed past quickly, and the inside of the vehicle stayed dead quiet.
Cheiron broke the silence first, his gaze fixed on the route ahead. “Have you gotten used to the place assigned by the Female Protection Center these past few days?”
Margaret leaned back against the seat and replied in a relaxed tone, “It’s fine. The house is big enough, and there aren’t too many people around.”
Cheiron let out a soft chuckle.
“Mr. Iverson spends most of his time at military headquarters and keeps a very regular schedule. Mr. Hurst is lively, but he has a simple mind.” Cheiron tapped his fingers gently on the steering wheel. “What do you think of them?”
His question was subtle. Cheiron was a sharp man. He would never show his possessiveness openly like Timothy, nor make his presence known through bold actions like Baar. He preferred to quietly gather clues during ordinary conversations.
Margaret turned her head to look at Cheiron.
Among the three matched partners she had met, she had known Cheiron the longest and was most familiar with him. Baar was tough and overbearing, and Timothy was restless and impulsive. Cheiron’s steady, restrained, and polite personality suited her best.
Both her past life and the life of the original host had been surrounded by people with unstable tempers. Those people would shower her with affection when happy, yet turn harsh and cruel when anger flared up. She had long grown tired of that tiring cycle of extreme emotional shifts.
Margaret looked away and spoke casually. “I don’t have any special opinions. They all seem easy to get along with. At the very least, they all have good manners.”
She paused briefly and added, “They are far better than my three former partners.”
Cheiron’s fingers stopped tapping the steering wheel for a moment when he heard those words. He kept his voice warm and calm as he responded, “We are truly honored to receive such praise from you.”
Margaret stretched her body and adjusted to a more comfortable seating position. “There are still two people we haven’t met. I have no idea when they’ll show up, or if they will come at all.”
The Central Brain had matched her with five partners in total, and only three had appeared so far.
Cheiron’s expression turned serious. “I find this quite strange, too. After the Central Brain released the matching list, I tried to look up files on those two men.”
