Margaret turned to look at Cheiron, waiting for him to continue.

Margaret nodded without much surprise. “That makes sense. Even the Central Brain couldn’t find any information, right?” Cheiron was already among the most powerful people on Prime Planet, but she doubted anyone’s information network could be larger than the Central Brain’s.

Cheiron shook his head.

“It wasn’t just the official databases that came up empty,” he said, his voice slowing as if recalling the past. “I even reached out to some connections in the black market.

“I asked around. The people who’ve lived and worked in the black market for years-their faces turned pale when they heard those names. They looked absolutely terrified.”

“Wait a minute, Mr. Jewett,” Margaret sat up straighter, her eyes sharp with curiosity. “You’re a senior researcher in the Beastmen Empire and the director of Central Hospital. How do you know people in the black market?”

The contrast seemed too extreme to be true,

Cheiron’s expression remained calm and neutral. “When I was doing research before, I needed some special lab materials that I couldn’t get through regular channels,” he explained briefly. “I made a few contacts back then, and those connections stuck.”

The explanation sounded reasonable enough, but Margaret’s intuition told her there was more to the story, Still, she didn’t push for details, Everyone had secrets they kept to themselves.

Just then, Primo said in Margaret’s head, “Host, from what Cheiron’s saying, those two men must be extremely dangerous. If even black market thugs are scared of them, they’re definitely violent criminals who live on the edge. It would be best if they never show up. If they do, they’ll probably cause all kinds of trouble.”

Margaret fully agreed,

She said. “You’re right. I hope I never see them in my life. I’ve got money and free time now, and I’m living comfortably. I really don’t want to invite any more problems into my life.”

The hovercar glided smoothly into Central Hospital’s underground parking garage-right into Cheiron’s reserved spot, as always.

Cheiron unbuckled his seatbelt, got out first, and walked around to open the passenger door for Margaret.

“We’re here,” he said, holding out his hand to help her.

Instead of taking his hand, Margaret pushed herself up from the seat and jumped down. Cheiron didn’t seem to inind; he simply pulled his hand back and led her toward the private access corridor.

Central Hospital’s architecture exuded a cold, high-toot

high-tech feel. The walls were sleek and silver-white. Sanitation droids rolled silently through the halls, and the air carried a faint, clean scent of medicine.

Every medical staff member they passed stopped to bow and greet Cheiron. “Good morning, Mr. Jewett.”

Unlike the researchers at the Academy of Sciences, each one stole curious glances at Margaret as they passed.

Cheiron only nodded slightly and kept walking without pausing.

They took the private elevator straight to the top-floor premium examination room.

No one else was there-just the two of them.

“Go change first,” Cheiron said, pointing to the adjacent changing room. “I’ll wait out here for you.”

Margaret took a plain white hospital gown and went inside. When she came back out, Cheiron had already powered up the large holographic scanner.

“Lie down inside. Cheiron instructed, gesturing to the machine.

Margaret did as she was told. The door slid closed, and a soft blue light swept slowly over her body from head to toe.

Cheiron stood alone at the control panel, his eyes focused intently on the data flickering across the screen.

As the scan progressed, the readings on the screen became clearer.

Cheiron frowned slightly.

The data showed Margaret’s health was worse than he’d expected. Years of poor nutrition had left her extremely weak, and all her vital organs were functioning below optimal levels.

Most critically, while her spiritual realm was so vast the scanner couldn’t fully measure it, the results clearly showed signs of severe exhaustion and fragmentation.

Only faint traces remained now, but Cheiron knew they were evidence of long-term, extreme overuse of spiritual power.

Thinking about her three former partners, a cold glint flashed in Cheiron’s eyes.

A C-class female trying to soothe high-ranking males was like using a cup of water to fill an ocean. It never worked-and the fernale would only suffer backlash from the male’s frenzy.

A clear beeping sound echoed through the room, signaling that the scan was complete.

The door opened. Margaret sat up, rubbed her stiff neck, and climbed out of the scanner.

“How did it go?” she asked.

Cheiron hid the data on the screen and turned to face her.
