Gold Moon Mated To The Beta Twins (Meadow) novel Chapter 448

Chapter 448 You’re Fired

Tallulah’s eyes widened in shock.

Her personal belongings, which had been neatly arranged on her desk, were now scattered all over the floor. And just now, she had stepped right on her limited-edition Parker pen.

Her blood boiled with rage.

“Who did this?” Tallulah shouted. “Who did this?”

No one dared to answer.

The surroundings were eerily quiet.

Earlier, in the Bronze Restoration Room, there was dead silence.

Stella, dressed in a white shirt with her sleeves casually rolled up, wore frameless glasses. Her long hair was carelessly tied up at the back of her head with a pencil.

Under the gentle lighting of the restoration room, her features looked even more, exquisite and striking.

A severely damaged bronze artifact sat right in front of her.

“Moon, this bronze is so fragile that even the old masters here don’t dare touch it. And since you’ve been busy, it’s just been gathering dust for years…” Karson said.

Just as Karson was about to start his usual rant, Stella shot him a lazy look over her glasses. Karson stopped talking.

He immediately shut his mouth.

“Who said you could touch that?!” Suddenly, an angry voice exploded from behind.

‘Crap!’ Karson thought.

Karson’s face changed as he suddenly remembered something. He quickly forced a smile, “Walter…” But before he could finish, Walter cut him off.

“Are you out of your mind? Stop right now!” Walter shouted. “Do you even know what this is? How dare you just start messing with it?”

Just as the words left his mouth.

“It’s a vessel for holding food,” Stella replied coolly, her hands never stopping.

Walter stopped shouting.

‘Damn it!’ Walter gritted his teeth.

‘She just made me look like a fool!’ he thought.

Walter narrowed his eyes, “Do you even have the credentials to restore artifacts?”

Karson looked miserable. ‘If Stella doesn’t have the qualifications, then the rest of us might as well pack up and go home, he thought.

“Restoring artifacts isn’t something you can just wing,” Walter said, sounding frustrated. “Take this bronze piece, because of an accident during the dig, the tail’s missing. Figuring out how to bring it back, one-to-one with the original… We’re all still stumped…”

Stella took off her glasses with a blank face and looked straight at Walter, the old guy who just wouldn’t quit. Meanwhile, Karson was behind him, looking miserable and bowing over and over, practically pleading with Stella to just let it slide.

“Who’s in charge of restoring manuscripts?” Stella asked lazily.

Someone shot their hand up. “Me!”

Stella said, “Go find the one labeled 70153.”

The punks were speechless.

Everyone exchanged awkward glances.

The person who’d been called on quickly brought over the manuscript labeled 70153. With so many artifacts piling up, this book was so beat up that even flipping a page felt like a challenge.

Stella called out, “Page 69.”

She didn’t even flinch, just rattled off the page number.

Ever since she was a kid, Stella had been running wild through the world’s most heavily guarded museums, thanks to Geezer and Professor Cipher. To her, those places were just her backyard. She could stroll in and out like she owned the place.

She knew every treasure in every museum around the world like the back of her hand.

Real or fake, Stella could spot the difference in a heartbeat.

The crowd was speechless.

They gawked at page 69 of manuscript 70153, then shot a glance at the bronze artifact in Stella’s hands.

Aside from the broken section, every detail was a flawless match.

Walter faltered, “You…”

He was frozen like a statue, totally dumbfounded.

Stella, out of patience, slipped her glasses back on with one hand, masking every trace of emotion.

“Give me twenty minutes,” Stella said coolly.

Twenty minutes later, everyone in the Bronze Restoration Room was absolutely floored.

They all held their breath.

If they hadn’t witnessed it themselves, nobody would have believed that this bronze artifact, already given up for dead, could be revived at lightning speed by Stella’s own hands.

“Holy crap!” Karson blurted out.

Karson had seen Stella’s divine touch at work more than once, but it never failed to blow him away. Her hands were nothing short of miraculous.

Stella stood up and said, “All done.”

Walter stammered, “This… This…” He kept glancing back and forth between the bronze on the table and Stella, over and over again, like he just couldn’t wrap his head around it.

“Moon…” Karson had somehow sidled up to Stella, beaming with exaggerated friendliness.

He looked as sincere as a fox offering to babysit chickens.

Stella didn’t even blink. “No, thank you.”

“Come on, Moon…” Karson pouted, looking all pitiful. There were still loads of treasures in the warehouse waiting for her magic touch. He was just about to shamelessly latch onto her when a furious yell from outside made everyone jump out of their skin.

“Who did this?” Tallulah shouted.

“Who the hell did this?!” Tallulah demanded.

Stella took the wet wipe someone handed her and wiped her hands with unhurried grace. Even with all the commotion outside, she stayed perfectly calm, not a hint of hurry in her movements.

She glanced up.

Her eyes were cool and detached.

Yet for some reason, that look sent an inexplicable chill down everyone’s spine.

Outside, maybe it was all that rage Tallulah had been holding in since yesterday, but now that she was on the warpath. She looked like she was ready to eat alive whoever dared to toss out her personal stuff.

Chapter 448 You’re Fired

“It was me,” Stella said.

Suddenly, Tallulah heard a voice straight out of her worst nightmare.

She whipped around, and when her eyes met Stella’s cold, careless stare, she practically shrieked, “What the hell are you doing here?” Tallulah couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

‘Wait, this is the National Museum of Heritage!’ Tallulah thought, her brain short-circuiting.

Tallulah was so stunned, her mind went totally blank.

Stella flashed a faint smile as she strolled out from the doorway, and for Tallulah, it was déjà vu, a nightmare straight out of the Jaffina Channel fiasco.

“Tallulah, starting today, you’re fired,” Stella announced, her words as casual as tossing out yesterday’s trash.

She delivered the line like she was just stating a fact, cool and effortless.

But it hit Tallulah like a bolt from the blue. She was so stunned she nearly staggered, her voice shaking with disbelief as she demanded, “On… what grounds?”

Her voice was icy, every word spat out with barely contained fury.

Stella just gave her a faint, unreadable smile.

She didn’t say a word.
