PART–106
Tessa
“Congratulations, Ms. Tessa. We’re really amazed to see the new collection. It’s under the budget of those who can’t afford very expensive clothes yet want to carry luxury.”
I received another praise from the guests who attended the launch event of our new collection.
“Thank you so much. It’s a team effort and we’re continuously working to make our brand reach to a mass.” I shook my head with the guest who came all his way from France to attend the show.
I was overwhelmed with the response I was getting.
“For the first time I am being cornered by everyone who knows me as well but I am not disappointed because my wife is getting the recognition.” Logan, who was standing beside me quietly, spoke.
I tilted to glance at the man who certainly stole the centre of gossips and cameras flashing at us.
“We’re photographed together for more than million times from last four or five hours.” I said.
“Tessa, the time media briefing will start in ten minutes.” Adrian walked into my direction.
We hadn’t talked much since the incident at his house but he was my boss in the event.
“Yes, I will join you in five minutes.” I replied politely.
It came out more like a professional response. Adrian glanced at my right side. I couldn’t miss the flash of displeasure in his eyes but he nodded and went away while talking to his secretory.
“Are you two having a conflict?” Logan asked.
I shook my head almost immediately.
“No, we’re not, just busy.” I lied through my teeth.
“He’s always leeching around you but tonight, he barely talked to you so it made me wonder. Well, I am glad that he finally understood the boundary between being friends and an imposer.” He rolled his eyes and we were greeted by another group of people.
the media conference was my first direct interaction with the world. I was sweating under the desk but I put up a confident face and responded to all questions of the media.
Logan was sitting in the first row. His eyes proudly gazing at me and whenever I felt nervous, he thumbed up for me. Everything went smoothly until the moment someone unexpected appeared in my sight.
Riccardo Manchini.
Why could I not notice him before?
He approached me, his eyes intently looking at me, it was discomforting because I knew his background. He was a criminal who walked in the cloak of a gentleman. He might fool the others but only knew what he was capable of.
“I didn’t expect to meet you here, Mr. Wilferd.” He approached Logan and my head spined in my husband’s direction.
They knew each other!
