PART–110
Tessa
“Come on, guys. I added a few names in the last minute because they could be our potential partners in the futi and they are super rich people. Riccardo Manchini is one of them. He doesn’t come into limelight often but he l shown interest to invest in our companies.”
Ruby, whom I and Adrian called in the office to interrogate indirectly, explained.
“Ruby, we don’t know him. In fact, not many people know him. All we know that his primary business in set up his own country. He only comes here for a few days or weeks.” Adrian argued with his sister.
“Tessa, he is a dickhead sometimes but you are smarter. He thinks that I have interest in this Italian, good looki guy but I am seeing someone else and he is only a good friend.” Ruby looked at me to support her.
Annoyance was clearly written on her face.
“You are friends with him?” Adrian exclaimed, almost jumping off his seat.
“Hey, don’t be overdramatic. We’re only friends.” Ruby eyed her brother.
“Ruby, sorry but I have to support Adrian on this. I mean we barely know this man. We are only worried about you.” I said.
“You both are unbelievable.” She rolled her eyes and picked her bag, she was about to leave but then an idea popped into my mind.
“Ruby, when and where did you meet him?” I asked her before she could leave.
“I am not telling you because you have ruined my mood.” She twisted her lips.
I gestured Adrian to handle the situation because she actually looked grumpy.
“Ruby, I am sorry. Please, don’t act like a kid now. I was only worried about you as your brother.” Adrian softened
“I know but sometimes you act like a douchebag.” She smirked.
“Now, will you tell us how you met this guy?” I asked trying my best to hid my impatience.
“Why? Do you have a secret crush on him? He is certainly a lady charmer.” Ruby teased me.
I shook my head.
“No, I have no interest in your friend. I am already married.” I showed her my ring.
“I know, you’re my poor love–struck puppy who can’t get over her husband.” Ruby joked but then her tone became normal, “I met Riccardo in an art gallery and it turned out we both liked the same painter. He invited me to see some other galleries
We listened to her carefully
“And you agreed?” Adrian asked
“No, I don’t trust strangers like that. But then I met him again in a club. We talked and I found out he was already engaged. We only talked about general things. He said he wants to expand his social circle here. He runs a wine business and also hotel business so I thought inviting him to the launch event would help him,”

Ruby’s explanation justified the theory we had about Riccardo. He was slowly trying to penetrate through our inner circle.
“Be careful, Ruby. We don’t know anything but such people. Men or women, you can’t see through a person’s hidden intentions.” Adrian said to his sister.
“I am not a fool either, Adrian. I ran a background check on him and it turned out that he didn’t lie about anything and we’re not very close friends.” Ruby responded to her brother.
“It’s okay. Now, it’s your turn to treat me to a meal because you both have eaten up my mind and I don’t want to work today.” Ruby grinned.
“I am busy.” Adrian raised his hands in surrender motion.
“Tessa Wilferd.” She eyed me.
“I can treat you for a lavish lunch. Just pick the place and I will be there after work.” I agreed because pushing her this far might hurt her feelings.
She was a great friend who always supported me.
“I’ll definitely put a hole in your pocket, bestie.” She smirked and left my office.
Once she was gone, I sighed and looked at Adrian whose eyes were already on me or should I say staring at something. I followed his gaze and my eyes widened when I saw a red mark on my shoulder.
I quickly adjusted my clothes. It was faint but somehow, he noticed it which made me embarrassed and also
uncomfortable.
“Jam
am leaving to continue my work. Many items are already out of stocks in two of our stores.” I made an excuse and hurried to leave.
“I am not judging you, Tessa and I am sorry for the last time. I shouldn’t have meddled in your private life.” I heard him and my feet stopped.
“It’s okay, I have already forgotten about it and I wish you to do the same.” I smiled at him.
“Thank you for being thoughtful.” He walked up to me, “I am also joining you to see the progress. Let’s ride “I am also joining you to see the progress. Let’s ride together.” He proposed and this time I didn’t reject him.
“Sure, let’s go.”
