“Mom, how am I looking?”

“My daughter has the best look. No other girl in the city is as beautiful as you.” My mother gave me a thumbs up.

I gave my reflection in the mirror a last check. I couldn’t stop thinking about Logan. He invited me on a dinner date.

“Raelynn, I know you must be imagining things about your future with Logan Wilferd but my instincts are saying otherwise. Be careful.” She advised me and handed me a device.

“Mom, I know and you don’t need to worry. If Logan is planning to break up with me then he’s highly mistaken. I won’t let him slip away. He is mine.” I said with determination.

“He’s already slipped from your hold, Ray. Your cousin managed to steal him from you. You can’t be overconfident this time. Take every step carefully.” She again advised as I prepared to leave my house.

I wore a very revealing dress intentionally. My makeup and accessories were also over for a dinner date.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, Mom.” I said settling inside my car.

Logan sent me the address. He chose a restaurant close to his office. I was only worried about Riccardo. I hoped he wasn’t following me because it’d only land me in a bigger problem.

“We’re here, Ma’am.” My driver informed me.

The valet showed me the way inside the lavish restaurant. It was an exclusive place where privacy was valued and that’s why it was favourite dining place for rich people.

I was led to the reserved table. I spotted Logan already waiting for me there.

A wide smile stretched on my lips.

“Logan..” I called his name and his head turned in my direction.

“Raelynn.” He stood up and dragged the chair for me.

“The ambiance is really romantic. I must say you never go for average.” I said.

The wine was served. He was quiet.

“Raelynn, let’s have our meal first then I need to discuss some important matters with you.” He said in a serious tone.

“Logan, please, don’t ruin our evening. It has been a very long time since we last sat like this and talked. You totally blocked me from your life. You know how devastated I couldn’t see you in the hospital. Tessa tried her best to keep you away from me.” I said using an emotional tone.

He sucked a deep breath.

Our conversation was cut short as the food arrived and he paid full attention on his meal rather than me. He didn’t even look at me for more than two seconds.

Perhaps my mother was right. He didn’t hold the same adoration that he once had for me

Tessa succeeded in stealing him from me. The only thought infuriated me but I kept my anger at bay because I wanted a beautiful night with him and it was just the beginning.

He’d not go back home to her.

He’d be mine for the night.

“The dishes are my favourite. You still remember my choice.” I tried to strike a conversation after ten long minutes. The silence was heavy and I wasn’t there just to eat.

I would rather eat him.

“They are my favourite as well.” He commented.

“Logan, what’s bothering you? You can always tell me.” I insisted because I was getting impatient with his coldness towards me.

He dropped the fork on the ceramic plate and finally looked at me.

“We need to talk about our equation, Ray. Yesterday, whatever happened at the ice–cream parlour, it left a negative impact on our son.” He spoke.

“I am sorry, I lost my temper when I saw you after a very long time.” I quickly apologized for my impulsiveness.

He shook his head.
