I looked at the mysterious man who appeared in front of us out of nowhere. His presence always irked me but I had no reason to despise him.
“Mr. Manchini, well, there are a lot of coincidences around us. Meeting you during a private dinner with my friend seems a bit too much.” I said, this time showing my discomfort to the man who didn’t know the meaning of word ‘privacy‘.
His eyes shifted on Raelynn who sat rigid, unmoved and looking completely uncomfortable.
“I’ll excuse you for now. Pardon me for disturbing your private time with this pretty lady.” He spoke in his thick accent but didn’t make a move to leave yet.
“It’s fine, we’re already done eating and taking our leave now.” I said and rose from my chair.
I couldn’t leave Raelynn alone with a man like him.
“Ray, let’s go.” I insisted her and she seemed to be pulled out from her trance.
“Umm..yeah.” She nodded her head frantically and hurriedly picked her bag and made her way out before me.
“Excuse me, Mr. Manchini. Please, pass my compliments to your brother for the fantastic service.” I said.
“Of course, I will pass your words to him. Have a great night, Mr. Wilferd.” He said and walked away.
He was a mysterious stranger but I never paid attention on him because I ran a background check on him when he revealed that he shifted into my neighbourhood.
I didn’t find anything suspicious.
I followed Raelynn out. She was standing in the parking lot. It was the basement so there were no chances of being caught by paparazzi.
“Ray, let me drive you back to your house.” I offered since she looked quite disturbed.
“No, it’s fine. I can go back myself. My car is over there.” She pointed her finger on her car.
“Are you sure? I mean you don’t look well.” I expressed my concern.
She shook her head.
“No, I am fine. Please, go home. We can talk tomorrow or whenever your schedule allows.” She also refused to take my help.
It made me wonder why her behaviour changed all of a sudden.
Was it because of Riccardo?
I needed to give him a humble warning to stay out of my
circle.
“Okay, good night. I’ll let you know when I’ll be free to meet.” I agreed and walked in the direction of my own car.
Throughout the ride back home, there were multiple thoughts running in my mind.
Tessa would be optimistic about my final meeting with Raelynn which was ruined by Riccardo. I had to be ready with a proper explanation.
Why my life had to be this complicated?
When I finally came to a decision, it couldn’t be implemented as well.

I spotted Tessa pacing in the patio. She must be waiting for me and my heart sank because I again had a negative answer.
The car stopped and I stepped out. My driver offered me an umbrella as it was drizzling. I told him to go home while I made my way towards my wife. She welcomed me with a small smile.
“I am sorry, Tessa. I failed you again.” I spoke.
She didn’t say a word but helped me with my suit’s jacket.
“You don’t need to apologize unless I hear why you want my forgiveness.” She spoke.
