Tessa
“Are you sure you want to come inside? Tessa, Dad would understand and trust me, he’ll be okay.” Logan asked me for like hundredth time since we left our house to his parents‘ house.
“I am fine, Logan. I respect your Dad and I know he’ll feel bad if I go to their doorstep and won’t enter in his house. I can put my pride aside for fifteen minutes. Besides, you’ll be there to shield me if things turn ugly.” I replied.
The car stopped in front of his parents‘ house which never welcomed me joyfully.
Yet I was there again.
“Alright, if you want to come then I won’t stop you but we won’t stay long if my Mom or Lea behave rudely with you.” He put a condition.
“Let’s decide it when we go inside.” I laughed and Logan picked Lena while I held Lucas‘ hand.
Together we walked towards the entrance of the house. We were greeted by the house staff.
As I predicted earlier, I spotted his parents in the living room. The eagerness on their faces was visible.
“Grandpa!” Lucas ran towards his grandfather first.
“Come here, my little princess.” Lilia took Lena from her son.
As soon as his hands were free, he quickly held my hand. Lilia eyed it but she paid her attention on Lena who looked confused in a new place.
“Good morning, Mom, Dad.” Logan greeted his parents.
“Good morning, Mrs. Wilferd.” I greeted her formally because it was what we had left between us.
Only the formalities.
“My little princess, Grandma has bought many toys for you. Let’s see them. I am sure you’ll like them.” Lilia took Lena with her. Well, it was far better than her taunts. I then approached Kevin.
“Good morning, Dad. How’s your health now? I hope you’re doing yoga and walking regularly.”
“I am as healthy as before that’s why I have decided to go on a month long touk to Europe or even longer if Lilia doesn’t ruin my mood.” Kevin joked.
“Dad, I think Mom can hear you. Don’t do something which can end your trip before it starts.” Logan commented and we laughed.
“Luke, be a good kid with your granddad and grandmom. We’ll come to pick you in the evening.” I said.
“Don’t worry, Mommy. I am not a kid. I am a big boy. Lena is a kid.” Lucas pouted.
“But you’re still a kid for us, Lucas.” Kevin ruffled his hairs.
I and Logan were watching their interaction. I could say that Kevin was eager to teach Lucas a lot of new things.
“Dad, we have to take Lena for her vaccination. So, I am going to take her from Mom. I hope she’d not be upset.” Logan said and about to get up when Kevin stopped him.
“Let her stay with your Mom if it’s not too late. She can be hyper and overdramatic sometimes. Not to mention how she behaves towards Tessa, but she loves her grandchildren. Can you please leave Lena with her for some more time?”

“It’s okay, Dad. We can stay here a little longer.” I agreed before Logan could object.
Kevin smiled when he looked at our entwined hands. Realizing, we were sitting too cozily in front of his father, I quickly freed my hand and created some space between us.
“Tessa, you don’t need to be shy in front of me. In fact, I am very happy to see you both together.” Kevin said.
I blushed and looked down at my lap.
“Dad, we have decided to give each other a chance and work on our marriage.” Logan told his father.
“This is great to hear, kids. I am very happy that you can finally see that Tessa is the perfect wife for you. She keeps your family bind together in one thread. Just love her and respect her for what she does for you.” Kevin advised his son.
“I will, Dad. It’s a bit late to realize that I had been unfair towards her but from now onwards, I will only try to make Tessa happy and make sure she won’t complain.” Logan said with a subtle smile.
