“Ma’am, why are you sweating in a cold weather. Are you okay?” Kelly asked me with worry written on her face.
I shifted my gaze from the open window of our living room to her.
“I saw Logan today.” I shared the most unexpected news with her.
For a moment, she frowned but then her eyes widened as soon as she processed my words.
“What?” She gasped.
I nodded my head as my voice ditched me. The world seemed to be a very small place. Adrian said there was no way Logan would find me thousand miles away from home.
He had no business there.
“Ma’am, what will you do now? If he’s in the city, he might be here to trace you. I mean perhaps he already knows that you’re here.” She got panicked.
“I don’t think so, Kelly. I didn’t see him alone. There was a woman with him and…” I swallowed a lump, “They looked really close.”
The only thought of Logan moving on with someone else sent a pang in my heart but I couldn’t blame him. I was the one to free him from our marriage. I had no right to complain.
“Ma’am, I think we should behave normally and I don’t think he’s in a relationship. I know him for years. He doesn’t get involved into emotional relationships just like that. You and your cousin were the only women he courted in his life.” She tried to defend him.
Honestly, I wanted it to be true as well.
I might have decided to separate my ways with him but he was still the father of our kids.
“Shall I tell Lucas about him?” I asked her because it was my main concern.
A small Lucas left his father and chose to live with me but I knew he loved and missed Logan. If Logan was in the city, Lucas must know.
“Yes, I think he has the right to know. If he finds out from a third person or Mr. Logan appears himself, he might not take it well.” She advised the same.
“I chose this life. I knew it’d be hard for you to manage your dreams and raising kids on your own. I don’t regret my decision.” She said.
After talking to her, I felt much lighter. The new storm in my life was serious but I knew I was stronger and braver than before.
“Sleep now, Ma’am. You are very busy in your work nowadays so your rest is equally important.” She said.
“Yes, I am going to the bed now but I don’t think I’d be able to sleep. It’s not easy to ignore what I saw today. We have to be more careful.” I said.
“Leave everything on tomorrow. Even if Mr. Wilferd has found you, Ma’am, you can fight him if you have moved on from him emotionally.” She said.
Her advice left me in deep thoughts.
“I will definitely think about it. Tomorrow is a big day for me and my team. We have to deliver a customized dress for one of my regular customer’s grandmother who is celebrating her 80th birthday tomorrow. It is a very important day for the family. I am also invited so tomorrow will be busier.” I told her.
“Then go and rest. You must shine at the party.” She patted my back and left to her room.
