Goodbye, Mr. Ex-Husband, I Won't Come Back novel Chapter 151

Logan

“He is my Daddy?” Lena looked between her mother and me, her big eyes identical to mine were full of confusion and amusement.

I felt a strange stir in my heart. My child was introduced to me after a gap of four years. It was obvious that she didn’t know about me or having a father figure in her life.

“Yes, he is your Daddy.” Tessa stroked her head. I could see that it was hard for her to explain this to a four years old girl who never met her father.

“Lena, can we talk, princess?” I took it from there because it wasn’t Tessa’s place to handle such sensitive situation alone.

Lena turned to face me, her eyes full of many questions but I didn’t think that she was mad or upset. A moment later, she got off from her mother’s lap and took kitten steps towards me.

My heart was pounding wildly against my chest. It was the moment that I dreamt every night. Her tiny feet halted in front of me.

“Hello, Daddy.” She smiled widely at me.

I forgot to breathe for a moment. My brain stopped working. I had waited for this moment ever since I held her in my arms for the first time. I remembered the moment when Lucas called me ‘Dad’ for the first time.

“Yes, Princess.” I said, my throat constricted. I didn’t care if my eyes moistened.

She opened her arms and threw herself at me. I gathered her in my arms. Her tiny body clung to me.

“I have a Daddy now. I have a Daddy like my friends.” She sang, her happiness could be felt in her words.

I kissed her hairs and hugged her even tighter. She was my own flesh and blood.

“I missed you, Lena.” I kissed her forehead once we broke the hug.

“Don’t cry, Daddy. You are with us now. I won’t let you leave us.” She used her tiny hands to wipe my tears.

Her innocence was similar to her mother’s.

“I won’t leave you and Lucas and your Mamma again.” I cupped her face and adored her small face. She was a mini version of the woman sitting across us.

“I am not going anywhere, princess. Daddy won’t leave you all ever again.” I hugged her again and stole a glance at my wife who was watching or reunion.

“Daddy, Luky will be happy to see you.” She clapped her hand and my heart swelled.

Lucas was the apple of my eyes before Lena’s birth. My world revolved around him but now I have two sources of happiness.

“Sir, your coffee.” Kelly came back holding the tray and placed it on the table.

Her eyes reflected the happiness when she saw a blabbering Lena on my lap.

“She always wanted a Daddy who can play the king in her games and she will play the little princess.” Kelly commented.

“We have another home and many cars?” She asked in surprised tone.

“Yes, we have a lot of things.” I told her.

Tessa cleared her throat. I knew she’d argue with me later.

“Lena, let your Dad drink his coffee. Sit on the sofa.” Tessa instructed her and she girl immediately jumped off my lap.

“She is an obedient girl.” I said. It was a compliment.

“I don’t want to grow up like your sister or Raelynn. It’s not personal but I know it was the result of bad parenting that led to their unideal behaviour.” She replied.

“I am not offended because you’re right.” I smiled.

When I felt that the ice was slowly melting between us, the door bell rang. Tessa went to open the door and the person standing outside, soured my mood because he flashed a big smile at my wife.

“Tessa, my aunt gave fresh breads and eggs that she brought from the farm today.” He handed her a basket.

“Thank you, Eliot but you didn’t have to deliver them personally.” Tessa said.

“Uncle Eliot! See my Daddy is here.” Lena shouted and his eyes wandered off at me. His smile faltered instantly.
