Goodbye, Mr. Ex-Husband, I Won't Come Back novel Chapter 169

Tessa

“Congratulations, Ms. Tessa. The new collection and your comeback in the fashion industry of our country is totally a bang.”

I received compliment from another guest.

“Thank you, Mr. Moore. I hope Mrs. Moore and your daughters will be one of my dearest customers.” I said with polished professionalism.

“Of course, my daughters have already placed their pre-orders. Best of luck.”

Another group of ladies approached me and I was fired with same curious questions about the stocks and designs and next launch. I answered them all with patience and details.

Logan was with the kids to ensure they’d not wander off from our sight.

“Tessa, congratulations.”

I heard familiar voice of Ashley Steller. She was walking towards me holding a bouquet.

“Oh, Ms. Ashley, thank you.” I received the flowers from her.

“Your new showrooms are just awesome.” She complimented me.

“I am happy that you liked the dresses. Where is Amanda. I wanted her to check the post maternity collection is for new mothers.” I said.

“She wanted to come but you know baby Rowan is fussy whenever she isn’t around so she couldn’t leave him.” She told me.

“Being a first time mother is challenging but it’s a totally different experience.” I said.

“I don’t know, I am yet to find a man, marry and then plan a baby. It’s a far off call.” She flipped her hairs.

“I get it.” I smiled and looked around.

“I hate to say this but I wonder why people are still gossiping.” She shook her head.

“About what?” I was clueless.

“You and Adrian Mcnight. He’s also at the party and talking to Mr. Wilferd. They are behaving normally but I don’t know why people have problem with you and him.”

“It’s their nature. We can’t change them and as long as I and Logan trust each other, I don’t care.” I replied.

“This is a positive sprit.”

There was nothing to talk about between us again. I invited her but I didn’t expect her to come.

“Let’s join the others.” She offered.

“Oh, yeah. I met almost all the guests. This is an exclusive party so there isn’t rush.” I said and together we walked to where Logan was talking with Felix, Adrian and other familiar faces.

“Tessa, would you give me a hug in front of all the people?” Adrian teased me.

“Mr. Mcnight.” Logan growled at him with a sharp glare.

“I didn’t want to come initially because you know my work field. I am expanding my modelling agency and your latest controversy might effect my business deals but you own an apparel brand so coming here was beneficial for me.” She said.

Still cocky.

“I am glad that you thought my designs are worth appreciated by you. We can do a fashion show together in near future. Let’s stay strictly professional for both our profits.” I said.

“This is good idea but I only collaborate with well established and premium brands. I hope you don’t mind.” Her remark was to derogate me but I only smiled in response.

“It’s an ambitious and great business approach. I hope once I become one of those premium brands then you’ll think of collaborating with me.” I used pun.

Her smirk disappeared. It was obvious that she wanted to ruin my mood. Her agenda was to insult me in front of many elite people but Logan would have warned her beforehand.

“Mr. Mcnight, oh you are also here. I didn’t see you. I thought you won’t be meeting my sister-in-law after you both were caught hugging.” She commented looking in the direction of Adrian.

My stomach flipped. She had unfolded her drama.

“Leah, do not do this.” Logan was there in lightening speed to warn his sister.

“Logan, don’t be rude. I am only trying to ask what the whole city is only wondering.” Leah flashed a cunning smile.

“Excuse me, guys but I think I should leave now. I am a very patient man and respect women but only those who actually deserve it.” Saying this, Adrian exited.

“Leah, what is your problem? Please, leave. I do not want to be rude with you but you are pushing me on the edge of my patience.” Logan grabbed her arm and took her with him while I chased after Adrian.

He was Leah’s target. It was wrong. He had only helped me but in return, he always received insults.
