PART–034
Tessa
“Tessa, can we talk..about…last night?”
Logan, whom I had been trying my best to avoid since my eyes opened in the morning after an unforgettable night, finally dropped the question.
“What do you want to talk about the last night?” I asked coldly.
I didn’t know why I snapped because I vividly remember that I was the one who initiated the passionate sex we had. I was embarrassed to admit it because our divorce was knocking at the door.
“We slept together, Tessa. Do you really think we can live under the same roof without having a conversation about that?” He looked up, looking slightly disappointed.
“Think of last night something we both wanted. I admit that I was the one to initiate it but we haven’t done it in last one month so just see it as something fun we did together. We gave in and if you want, I am ready to take the full responsibility.” I tried to make it sound like a casual conversation.
It seemed like something snapped inside Logan who was usually a patient man, his face contoured with anger.
“So, it was just fun for you?” He asked, his voice dangerously low.
I looked away to avoid his intense gaze. It was clear, he disliked my response.
“It was wrong in normal circumstances, wasn’t it? Would you have slept with me if I hadn’t asked for it?” I asked him.
He remained silent.
“Let’s pay the bill and pick Lucas. I have to prepare him for the event. He’s very excited for the gala.” I said quietly.
“Fine.”
He snapped in a blank tone before calling the waiter and paid the bill. Not even for once he glanced at me. It was just two of us inside the car.
“You don’t need to make it a big issue. We can act normal around each other. It’s just the matter of only two days.” 1 broke the silence because the guilt weighed on my heart.
“You know it’s impossible.” He replied in a flat tone.
Logan made me feel special and quenched my desires in his skilled ways. It wasn’t just the passion between us but I felt the live that I tried to bury. The walls I erected around my fragile heart crumbled down.
I realized no matter how much I’ll try to run away from him and convince myself that I’d be fine once i freed myself run the clutches of my past, eventually I craved for his love.
The car stopped in front of his parents‘ house. He was the first one to step down and then he opened my side of door for me. It wasn’t an act, he always did it.
I chipped a small thanks and together, we made our way inside his parents‘ house. It’d be first time after his birthday when we’d be meeting them.
Or probably my last meeting with them. I didn’t know how should I feel
Honestly, I felt empty.
clearly
“Logan, my son.” Lilla, whom we met at the entrance opened her arms for her son but clearly ignored me
“Mom, how are you?” He gave her a lose hug, his tone polite.

“Good evening, Mother.” I greeted her but she pretended like she hadn’t heard it so I didn’t try to make more efforts.
Some people will always misunderstand you and she was one of them.
“Where is Dad?” Logan asked as we walked into the house.
“He’s in his study room but I won’t advice you to meet him today. He’s still upset with you about your birthday evening. You ditched us. You know how stubborn he is sometimes.” She tried to stop Logan from meeting his father and I felt it was unfair.
She was only creating more distance between them when Logan was ready to break it.
“Mom, I’ll meet him. Please, pack Lucas‘ bags so we can leave once I’ll be done talking to Dad.” Logan declined her request and made his way towards his father’s study room.
I was left alone with my mother–in–law.
