PART–042
Tessa
I could see jealousy in those eyes and it took me a moment to understand that he wanted to ask me whether I was with Adrian and it filled me with rage.
With full force, I pushed him and created distance between us.
“What I do in my personal life is none of your concern, Logan Wilferd. Even if I’d have someone in my life, I’ll do it respectfully not like you who whore around.” I spatted. I didn’t care if I crossed the line this time.
The way his eyes changed colour, I knew my words hit his pride.
“Choose your words carefully, Tessa. My relationship with Raelynn was never hidden.” He gritted his teeth.
“I don’t care but you should have decency to keep her out of my sight if you have asked to extend our marriage.” I crossed my arms.
I wasn’t going to hold back anymore. He started it, now, I’ll serve him with the taste of his own medicine.
“Tessa, it was a good trick to avoid my question but I am not giving up.” He again decreased the distance
between us.
The tension could be felt in the air.
“I stayed with my friend and you can’t stop me from meeting people. Don’t worry, I won’t whore around as long as we’re married.” I said and looked away.
“I am not against you having friends but I hope this friend list doesn’t include Adrian Mcnight, am I
clear?”
My jaws dropped. He still had audacity to forbid me when he was doing exactly the same thing.
“Mr. Logan Wilferd, it’s good that you mentioned Adrian’s name.” I lowered my tone to a serious one rather than arguing.
He raised his brow at me.
“I had made plans for my career after divorce and in that process, I met Adrian who offered me a job in France and I actually planned to go there but I respect Kevin and if I am staying here, I’d start working here first.” I told him.
“You mean you want to work in Adrian’s company?” He asked.
“Yes, I am starting from Monday as the designer for his new clothing line. In fact, I have designed the spring and summer collection.” I told him everything.
“If you want to work, I am not stopping you but I won’t let you work for Adrian whose eyes are on you like a hawk. I can talk to other clothing brands and you’ll easily get a job there.” He said.

This time, his tone was softer but it hurt me more than his rejection.
“I thought you knew me in these three years we spent together but I guess I was wrong.” I shook my head, my eyes welled up but I refrained myself from breaking down in front of him, “I am not like Raelynn who always used you as her ladder to achieve what she wants.” I said, my words laced in bitterness.
He opened his mouth to say something but he held himself back.
“You can’t defend her because you know how you have helped her to climb up in her career but I don’t want someone’s favour. Even if I have to start from a trainee position, I’d happily accept it because I’d earn it on my own. So, don’t you ever offer something this derogatory and crush my self–respect.” I said.
My words were draped in both hurt and anger.
“Tessa, you misunderstood me. I didn’t mean to offend you. I know you had been an excellent designer before our marriage and I am saying this as a businessman. No company hires someone who has taken a break from work. I am only trying to pave a way for you, rest will be determined by your skills.”
As much as his explanation made complete sense, I couldn’t take his favour.
“I have already decided. I am going to work in Adrian’s company. I have signed the legal documents of employee–employer agreement.” I said firmly.
“It can be cancelled. I don’t trust him, that’s it.” He was still adamant on what he believed.
