With heavy head and burning eyes due to lack of sleep and hangover, I entered into the house which I once considered home. It was early so I expected Lucas to be fast asleep.

I spent the night at Ruby’s house as I was pretty drunk and later Raelynn’s social media posts about Lucas and the event spoiled my mood even more. Although, she only posted about Jason and being present at the kindergarten but I could understand the indirect way of mocking me.

I hoped I’d dodge Lucas‘ interrogation because I didn’t want him to have a bad image of me. I never drink to oblivion in front of my son.

I was quietly walking towards my room and only nodding at the maids with embarrassment because it wasn’t a rocket science to guess what I did last night.

“Come down when you get rid of the stench. We need to talk.”

Logan’s deep voice forced me to halt in my track. Slowly, I turned around and found him sitting on the sofa, dressed in a sophisticated manner. He was ready for the office but his blank face made me gulp. He was angry and the calmness on his face was only the way to hide it.

My breath got hitched in my throat. I didn’t expect him to keep a watch on me.

“You can tell me now because I am going to rest.” I said and it was true.

My head was pounding.

“No, first make yourself representable, Tessa.” He refused, he was determined to have a heated

conversation with me.

Being exhausted, I silently took my exit from his vicinity because I didn’t want to argue with him as he’d not give up.

I closed my eyes and let the cold water soak my body under the shower.

Ruby’s suggestion and my decision to work again were good as theory and now it was time to put my plans in motion.

And after the shower, I was going to tell Logan about it.

I changed into a comfortable pair of loose pants and a T–shirt before making my way out of my room. The past few days were tiring and very busy so I decided to rest and spent quality time with Lucas because once I start working, it’d be difficult to be a full–time mother.

“Mommy!”

Lucas’s squeal pulled me out of my thoughts. He ran to me and behind him was Kelly and I guessed she was with him when he woke up.

“My baby, good morning. Now, give Mommy a kiss.” I knelt down to his level and pointed on my cheek and he happily kissed my cheek.

“Good morning, Mommy.” He wished me.

“He was fast asleep when Sir brought him home.” Kelly said, it was her indirect way to tell me that Lucas was unaware of my absence last night.

“Come, let’s have our breakfast and after that I have to discuss something very important with you.” I said to him while we walked towards the dining area.

“Okay, Mommy.” He nodded but again looked up at me, “Mommy, Allen wants me to come to his house to play his new game with him and his Mommy is making our favourite lunch. Can I go to his house after breakfast?” He asked for my permission to visit his friend’s house who lived in the neighbourhood.

“You can go but you have to promise me that you’ll be a good boy.”

“I will, Mommy. Thank you.” He grinned widely.

After talking to my little sunshine, I felt slightly better but my stomach knotted when I saw Logan at the dining table.

“Good morning, Dad.” Lucas went to wish his father.

“Good morning, Luke.” Logan ruffled his hairs.

It was after days that I saw him having breakfast with us. For past few days, he was avoiding my sight or – being in the same radius as me.

During the breakfast, Lucas kept us involved in his talks.

After the breakfast, I told Kelly to take Logan to his room to do some colouring before making my way to Logan’s study room.
