PART–054
Tessa
Lucas, who shouted on Raelynn, rushed towards them and before they could process anything, he glared at her with crossed hands.
“Ms. Cowper, you should have some manners. Touching my Dad isn’t appropriate. He is my Mom’s husband.” He lectured his biological mother whose jaws hung low while I was also in shock.
Lucas was barely five and he could speak like an adult.
“Luke, behave. She is my friend and she was only helping me.” Logan interjected.
I wanted to laugh on his shamelessness because she wouldn’t have touched him if he hadn’t
allowed her.
“Lucas, let’s go to your room and change your clothes. Your Dad must have an important business to discuss with his friend.” I called out Lucas because I’d not interfere, he’d feel more
upset.
Finally, Logan’s eyes my cold ones.
The man had audacity to play with two women at the same time.
“Tessa, why is he behaving like this to me. It’s rude. You’re spoiling him.” Raelynn made a crying face.
Lucas frowned at me but he couldn’t disobey me so he ran towards his room. It was just three of us so there was no need of any pretence.
“Lucas is a well–behaved kid who can’t see something inappropriate and out of order. You have certainly displeased him.” I replied in a taunting tone.
Her face turned red, she looked ready to pounce at me but refrained herself to continue acting like a damsel in front of her lover.
“Raelynn, please, go home now. We can talk some other time.” Logan said to her in a low voice.
He looked torn and uncomfortable in both mine and Raelynn’s presence.
“There’s no need to send her away. She can give you better company and feel free to ask her to stay overnight because I’ll be busy.” I said in an irritated tone and stormed towards my room.
I didn’t know what happened after I left. Whether she stayed or left. I spent the next few hours in Lucas‘ room. I helped him in making his school project and completing my work.
I skipped dinner because I didn’t know I could sit with Logan at the same place.
Around ten, there was a soft knock at the door. Lucas was fast asleep and I was also preparing

to head back to my room as my muscles ached for rest.
I went to open the door and found Logan standing outside and my mood rotted again.
“Is he asleep?” He asked about Lucas and I nodded my head.
He only deserved my silence.
“You didn’t come for dinner. Please, eat something before you sleep.” He said to me in a gentle tone but it spiked my temperature.
“Mr. Wilferd, you should save this hollow concern for your lover. I am not a child and I don’t need you to make fake efforts.” I snapped back at him.
He flinched at my fierce reaction but composed himself.
“I didn’t invite Raelynn. She came to see me and what you saw earlier, she was helping to adjust my splint as I accidentally hurt my broken arm.” He tried to clarify the situation I saw him with in Raelynn.
“You don’t need to explain me anything, Logan. Even if she was sitting on your lap, I wouldn’t care now because I have made my peace. I am over my heartbreak because it was predestined. You always made your choice. She was your choice.” I said.
My words were sharp but true.
I didn’t want Lucas to wake up hearing our fight. So, I closed his door and made my way to my room. Logan was right behind me.
“Why you have to be difficult every time I try to solve our issues, Tessa?” He asked me, this time blocking my way.
“Really? I simply asked you to keep your distance from Raelynn for the time we’re together but you couldn’t do it and expect me to listen to your excuses.” I laughed dryly.
“Again, I am saying this, I didn’t ask to come over here. She paid me a visit and stayed. We only talked and what you saw wasn’t something inappropriate.” He repeated.
“Logan, don’t worry. I am not asking you for any explanation because whatever you do in your personal life doesn’t concern me anymore. It doesn’t affect me.” I said but even I knew that I was lying to myself.
Every time I saw them together, it left deep effect on me.
“But it affects me, Tessa.”
His voice forced me to stop.
“It bothers me whenever you act like you are okay with it because you’re still my wife.”
