“Mommy, I will go to market with Dad and buy new toys for Lena.” Lucas, who was super excited since he came back from school and found me in the house.

“Lucas, she is still too small to play with toys. Why can’t you do one thing?” I cupped his face and stroked his cheeks, “You can spend your free time with her and play with her. She’ll like it more.” I suggested him.

His face welcomed a wide grin.

“Yes! This is the best idea.” He said and leaped.

I only wanted my children to bond well with each other.

“Mommy, don’t you get bored sitting inside this room all the day? I don’t see you and Dad talking much. Are you still upset with him?” Lucas asked me innocently but his question had a depth.

I was tight lipped because my son asked me something that I couldn’t answer.

“It’s complicated, Luke. That’s all I can say right now but don’t worry, my love for you is the same.” I tried to divert his mind from the depressed subject.

“I know, Mommy that you love me but I want you and Dad to be happy together. He was sad when you weren’t around.” He said in a sad tone.

“Lucas, what are you saying?” I frowned.

“I am saying that even if he didn’t express himself but I had seen him. He used to sleep mostly in his study room. I saw him staring at the wedding portrait of you and him. He rarely spoke if it’s not me. I knew he missed you.” Lucas replied.

His revelation left a deep impact on me.

Lucas was an observing child who wouldn’t make up stories just to break the ice between his parents.

“Lucas, I promise you that we’re good now. If I was angry with your Dad, I wouldn’t have returned.” I said to cheer up his mood.

“I am happy that you’re finally home. We can live like before with Lena.” He squealed and left to play with his younger sister.

Under proper care and doctor’s supervision, I was recovering fast. I didn’t feel the pain but Logan advised me to move only when it was necessary. At first, I felt annoyed but with time I understood that it was for my own good.

Having nothing to do, I decided to go in the garden to spend some time in fresh air.

The fresh air and chirping of birds soothed my mental peace.

My phone rang and I saw Adrian’s number on the screen. We hadn’t talked much ever since I came to stay at Logan’s house. It was me who avoided it because arguing with Logan was the last thing I wanted because I was tired.

“Hello, Adrian.” I said.

“Hello, Tess. How are you? It’s been a long time since we talked and you really seem busy.” He said.

He didn’t say it loud but I could feel complain in his tone.

“I am fine, Adrian and I am sorry that I didn’t call you. Trust me, it has nothing to do with Logan. I sleep most of the time due to effect of medicines.” I told him while it was partial truth.

“Hey, you don’t need to explain anything to me. I am not like your insecure husband. I know you need rest, both physically and mentally. I just wanted to know how’s your health.” He said.

I felt relieved.

“I’ll be visiting the doctor tomorrow and ask her if I can continue my work from office. I really get bored here, sitting idly.” I said.
