Tessa
“These are for you.”
I was surprised, no, I thought I was dreaming.
“For me?” I asked pointing my finger at myself while my eyes were blinking at the bouquet of pink lilies, my favourite flowers.
“Yes, I was passing by the route and when I saw these flowers I remembered that you love to keep them in your room.” He answered.
I slowly take them from my hands and adored them. It was from the same shop which sold these lilies. I always bought from them.
“The shop is in the opposite side of your office.” I said.
“Let me put them in the vase.” He dodged the question and placed the lilies in the vase near the window.
I watched his actions. He then opened the curtains so the sunlight could enter the room.
“Can we talk?” He looked at me for my approval.
“What do you want to talk about?” I raised my brow.
“Anything in general. I am free this evening. I would have taken you and kids out but we can’t.” He said, I could feel his nervousness because he was scratching his nape.
A smile threatened to break on my lips but I masked a neutral expression.
There was a brief moment of silence between us.
“Tessa, we have to take Lena for her first vaccination on Saturday. I am afraid. I mean she’ll feel the pain and the fever.” He said.
“It’s a common symptom after vaccination in kids and one day or another, she has to be injected.” I said as a matter of fact.
“But she is just a small baby.” He looked really worried for his daughter.
He was always been protective of his kids.
“Don’t worry, she’ll be fine.” I said.
Again, we had nothing to talk. I realized how far we had drifted away from each other.
“How is work? Have you found your CEO yet?” I asked because I had been seeing that he’s busier in work, came home late and even when he took a day off, he mostly worked.
He raised his brow but I could see excitement in his eyes.

“I am looking for the worthy person but I can’t find one to step up in the role. A miscalculated decision. would lead me to downfall or even financial damage. I hope I find one very soon so I can have more time for our family. I want to take the kids and you on a trip to Disneyland.”
Logan’s answer was full of sincerity and I couldn’t gather myself to doubt him.
He was trying his best to fix everything between us.
“I have an idea but it’s not an easy way.” I said and bit my lip.
He looked up at me.
“I would like to hear your idea, Tessa. The workload is tiring me and I don’t want to die early with stress.”
He said.
“I am not an expert in these matters but I think you should be looking into big companies. Maybe, you’d find your right person there. There are several companies whose CEO’s might be discontented with their owners. There are many talented men and women, you just need to have an eagle’s eye to spot the right
one.”
He blinked his eyes at me.
“Woah, Tessa. You talked like a pro businessman, a cunning but successful one.” Logan chuckled, looking surprised by my suggestion.
“I told you that my idea was crooked but this is the right option that I could think of. It’s up to you if you want to give it a shot or continue your quest.” I shrugged my shoulders.
“Your idea is actually like a one shot in the dark but it could hit the bull’s eye. I’d give it a chance and use my resources to keep an eye on such persons.” He smiled in appreciation.
“Just don’t leave any trace behind if you want to avoid scandals. Other than that, you can actually find a worthy CEO to run your company whereas you can focus on expanding it.” I advised.
“You have talent to tackle with problems so effortlessly, Tessa. I wish I had a clothing brand so I could hire you.” He said in appreciation.
“Don’t judge me too fast, Logan. I only shared my point of view and running a company isn’t a piece of cake. You studied hard, earned degrees in the field and work for years before gaining your current position. Whereas, I am just an ordinary person with ordinary dreams.” I stated the fact.
“Don’t underestimate yourself, Tessa. You are talented, there’s no doubt but you have deep insight. You might not be worthy of running a company but you can definitely be in the advisory team.” He responded.
My brows furrowed.
“What are you trying to say, Logan?”
“I’d love to have you in my advisor’s team, Tessa. It won’t break any rule in your current work. You’ll only share your views since you have the knowledge of crisis which comes uncalled. I trust your wisdom.
